Mixer, producer & drummer with 10+ years of experience. Passionate about elevating songs both technically and artistically, I specialize in understanding the artist’s vision and delivering mixes that truly connect with listeners.
With over 10 years of experience in music production, mixing, and performance, I bring both technical expertise and genuine passion to every project. I’m a producer, mixer, and drummer, but above all, a lifelong lover of music.
What sets me apart is my ability to truly understand the artist and the song. I believe that every track carries a unique message, and my role is to elevate it—both technically and artistically—so that it reaches the listener in the most powerful way possible.
For me, mixing is not just about balance and clarity; it’s a form of composition in itself. It’s an honor every time an artist chooses me for this crucial stage of the creative process, and I approach it with commitment, sensitivity, and respect for the music.

Now I've worked on an entire album with him, he is now my go-to for any work haha. The best thing about working with Tomas is the smooth communication, he really listens to YOU to bring out the best of your music.

This song is something special because it's a minimalist song. Tomas found the sweet spot for the song to bring out the "message" more. Really fun to work with this guy!

What a wonderful experience with Tomas! He is a Class A mixer! Nailed it in the first version and he had no problems with my revisions requests until I was happy! Interview with Tomás De Carli
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: The two records of an artist called KND (Bonnefaid and Alameda). I was very involved on this project, from producing, tracking, mixing, and also playing live
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on the great music of Mauro Meloni
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Nacho de la Riega Leandro Zilberberg
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. For its flexibility
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: they will get what they are looking for
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: being around artists
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Most clients ask “How long will it take?” I usually deliver within a few days, always prioritizing quality. They also ask about revisions—I include them until the song feels right, because my goal is for the artist to be fully satisfied.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: One of the biggest misconceptions is that producing or mixing is just about pushing buttons or adjusting levels. In reality, it’s a deeply creative and interpretive process.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I usually ask about the vision and goals for the song—what feeling or message they want to convey. I ask for references: artists, songs, or productions they love, to better understand their taste. I also like to know about the story behind the track, the intended audience, and any deadlines or technical needs. All of this helps me align creatively and practically with the client from the very start.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: My advice would be to choose someone who not only has the technical skills, but also really listens to you and understands your vision. Look for good communication, because that’s key to making the process smooth and enjoyable. And don’t be afraid to share your ideas openly—when the artist and the producer are aligned, the music always reaches its full potential.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: macbook, Beyerdynamic dt 880 headphones, Universal audio apollo twin, Roland Space Echo, Neumann U67
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: more than 20 years... I started recreating songs with Reason as a game when I didnt even know the concept of music production
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: punchy and sensitive
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: John Mayer. I love songs and his versatility
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: A great production comes from a great song, very well played and tracked.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: pop/folk
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Interpreting the artist
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring something unique to each track by enhancing the arrangements, the musicians’ performances, and the overall sound. I focus on the balance of elements and the expression of the song, making sure the production not only sounds polished but also amplifies the emotion and message the artist wants to deliver.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I always start by spending time talking with the artist to really understand their music, their personality, and what they’re aiming for. From there, I look for inspiration—sometimes it comes from our conversations, sometimes from listening to a great record or watching a video. Once I feel that spark, I dive deep into the work and spend hours shaping the track until it reaches the place where it truly feels right.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I run my own studio in Palermo, which has both a control room and a live room, both professionally treated for acoustics. It’s a very inspiring space filled with instruments, along with a collection of compressors, preamps, and other gear that help shape the sound. And of course, everything runs smoothly on a powerful computer that can handle any project we throw at it. The setup allows me to move seamlessly from producing to recording to mixing, all in a creative environment.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m deeply inspired by producers and artists who bring a unique voice to everything they do. Jeff Lynne for his timeless arrangements and ability to make songs sound both classic and fresh. Jack Antonoff for the way he captures emotion and intimacy while keeping things modern and radio-ready. D’Angelo for his groove, depth, and organic feel. And more recently, Clairo, whose honesty and understated production show how powerful simplicity can be. They all remind me that great music is about connection
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Music production and mixing for commercials and artists. I help clients shape their ideas into finished tracks, whether that means producing from scratch, enhancing a demo, or mixing to industry standard. My focus is always on making the song connect with the listener—both technically and emotionally.

I believe that by having the correct previous chat and reference tracks from the client, 3 revisions is usually enough. But my main goal is a happy client, so I can always be flexible.
