Matt LeFevers on SoundBetter

When I'm not producing music, I'm thinking about producing music. I live, eat, and breathe this stuff. Let me give your mixes the punch and clarity they deserve, and help you make your project sound the way it does in your head.

I've been recording for most of my life, and have a degree in Audio Production Technologies and continued training from the Hardcore Music Studio program. My specialty is rock — music with drums and guitars is my home base — but within that large umbrella I have experience with a variety of genres, ranging from indie songwriters to worship music to death metal.

I aim for impact and excitement with my mixes and promise to deliver a competitive, engaging end result that will grab listeners' attention and keep it.

If you need guitar added, I have twenty-four years experience playing in a variety of styles.

I am also adept at editing spoken word recordings, so if you have a podcast or audio presentation you need edited I'd be happy to help.

Matt's studio work is fantastic. I'm a vocalist, and he's hands down my favorite engineer to work with. My vocals always come out incredibly warm sounding with depth that I didn't feel in the studio. He has a gift for emphasizing the tones that should be heard and that best compliment a song. I highly recommend working with him, not only for his skills, but for his professionalism. He's an excellent communicator and always gives realistic timelines.

Matt has produced, engineered, and mixed numerous recordings for us. His work is always the highest quality, and he is always professional, reliable, and fair. He has also done session work for us as an instrumentalist, which is an added bonus. We wouldn’t go with anyone else.

I've been a musician working with Matt LeFevers for over a decade and couldn't be happier with the experience. I've been playing various instruments (mostly drums) for basically my whole life, and I have never been more impressed with the sound than after I hear a fresh mix from Matt. His dedication and talent are next level, and he makes everything I do sound so much better than I ever imagined. The versatility he brings to the table is stellar, having the skills to easily work in and out of different genres seamlessly from metal to folk rock and everything in between. I highly recommend him.

I have been working with Matt LeFevers for quite some time now, and he is always my go-to engineer whenever I’m geographically available for a project. He has recorded roughly twelve projects (albums, EPs, etc.) for me over the course of several years, and has always displayed the highest level of professionalism. He has a wonderful setup, and fantastic tools to get the most out of your takes. I’ve also found over the years that he is a wonderful session musician who possesses a wealth of knowledge on instrumentation when there’s something I cannot play. I’d recommend him to anyone, any day.
