Somebody

Electronic Music producer

Somebody on SoundBetter

Just listen. It's different.

About Me:

I am a professional music producer, as well as a singer and mixing engineer. I've studied under 5-time grammy winner Victor Wooten and more as a student.

I have worked with TSM (they have over 50k songs), Pond 5 (by Shutterstock), Pixabay(they have over 6 million assets) and more as a commercial music producer. My work as an independent music producer has taught me to really love the work I do, and it's a thrill to be chasing my passion as I work.

What I offer:

- Professional music production with Logic Pro X, Soundtoys, CLA, and more.
- Hands-on feedback with every client.
- Have any questions about music? Feel free to ask!
- Quality mixing up to industry standards

Interview with Somebody

  1. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  2. A: I love music.

  3. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  4. A: This is something I do regularly: I take my Macbook Pro, my ATH monitor headsets, and the cute Akai MPK mini wherever I go. Of course, I can't control the fine details with those; but I work on creating a lot of music with just those.

  5. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  6. A: Just a common one: there are no rules to music.

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: I usually work on electro-pop, in the style of Kygo, Chainsmokers, etc. I am recently trying to build expertise in ballad-ish music too.

  9. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  10. A: This is kinda geeky, but I have pride in my EQ-ing skills. I like to shape the EQ curves in fine detail, you'll be amazed at what a normal, boring EQ can bring to the mix! Control of tone, space, clarity, energy... there's a lot you can achieve, sometimes even with a stock equalizer :D

  11. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  12. A: I try my best to make sure the audience feels the song, as it was originally intended to be.

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: There are tons of skills to learn in mixing. But in the end, it all comes down to one thing: providing a wonderful experience to the listener. If possible, I communicate with the producer to know exactly how he intended the song to sound. If not, I think of how I would enjoy the song. Plugins and mixing skills, although I have plenty of them, are just tools for that one purpose - making the audience truly feel the music. I utilize whichever skill/work process I can to achieve that sole purpose.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: Logic Pro X, Yamaha HS7 Studio Monitors, Waves Diamond Bundle, Soundtoys EffectRack, Universal Audio Bundle, etc.

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: Kygo, Avicii, Jonas Blue

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: I mix their music. But it's not for my clients; It's for the listeners.
