Thanks for stopping by! I'm an artist, mixer & mastering engineer based in Vancouver, B.C. Whatever the project, my goals are always the same: clarity & flavour. I'll strive to bring out the subtleties of your songs and help you get the sound you're going for.
Many of my favourite tunes come from contemporary indies like Bahamas & Madison Cunningham, but I'm equally inspired by music from other times & places (João Gilberto, Orchestra Baobab, Blossom Dearie), and funk collectives like Scary Pockets. The throughlines? Artistic authenticity, excellent musicianship & stellar recording.
I came up recording bands & playing in D.C.'s vibrant indie scene, and began my formal training at Selkirk College's Contemporary Music & Technology Program. More recently, I’ve studied Psychoacoustics & Mastering at Berklee College of Music. In addition to my engineering work and session playing, I've honed my skills in audio restoration, podcast editing & post-audio.
I've been lucky enough to work with some of Canada's kindest singer/songwriters: Zach Kleisinger, Jenny Banai, Eva Foote, James Clayton, Colin Weeks, Artemisia, Cara Bateman, Jessie Farrell and plenty more. Non-musical clients include Georgetown University, Movement by NM and Avant Life Church.
If you'd like to chat about how I can help with your project, drop me a line.
Cheers,
Yitzy
