Interview with J. Medina

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: I guess you would put " I promise professional service" here.. but the truth is I would like them to know that I would promise to give 100% every single time and treat every song like it was my own!

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: I love taking a song from literally 0 to 100. Its always crazy that us as creatives can make something from thin air and it feels even better when you helped someone else reach their goal. The positive reactions I receive from clients when the song is done and they are in love with it is priceless.

  5. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  6. A: Travis Scott because he is close with Mike Dean and they seem like a dope pair to work with. They are always pushing the boundaries of audio with the vocal work and trippy effects. I could learn a lot from being in a room with creative minds like that.

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: Sound selection is the key to great production. Figure out a vibe and make sure that the sounds you have chosen compliment that vibe.

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: I work on a trap, hip hop, afrobeat, RnB, reggaeton and pop music.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: My strongest skill is that I am able to pick up on what an artists is looking for very quickly and that is because I am an artists alongside being a producer and engineer. It gives me more insight on the process from start to finish.
