I am a Boston-based music producer and mixing engineer with over 1 million plays and countless play-listings on Spotify. I have a background in jazz (having studied at the New York Jazz Academy), and I use my experience as a musician to create music in any genre. I'm currently pursuing a BSME with a concentration and minor in acoustics.
My primary service is mixing. Below is what I ask for from all my mixing clients and what I will do.
Mixing Description: You provide all stems, dry vocals (no reverb, no delay), unmixed export (pre-mix), and reference song (same style of mixing)
I will:
clean up and tune recorded parts
gainstage
process individual instruments
bus process
send un-limited mixdown back that does not peak above 0 dB
I have extensive experience with mixing and will get your song sounding professional
Background:
My background in both acoustics (engineering focused on wave propagation) and music allows me to switch between the objective and subjective parts of music creation incredibly well. My understanding of how music software and hardware works give me an edge over other producers and engineers. Furthermore, my dedication to all the songs I work on makes me a great producer to work with. I am happy to make edits or see-through ideas even if I don't think they will work because creating music is a collaborative process that rewards those who push the envelope. I am incredibly passionate about creating music, and I can't wait to work together! Listen to my demos to get an idea of what my past projects sound like.

Interview with Austin Bailey
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I don't just bring an objective eye to a mix but I also have been a musician and producer for years so the skills I've learned from these creative endeavors give me an edge even over seasoned engineers.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start with gain staging and then vocal/ prominent instrument processing. then, I look for problem areas that stick out of the mix in a negative way. The process of going between processing and releveling a mix is incredibly iterative but always creates a stronger mixdown. Finally, I use bus compression and group processing to glue the mix together.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I generally begin mixing on headphones in mono then move to a studio with Yamaha professional-grade monitors for the final listen.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing services but I would like to do more freelance production.
