My voice is versatile; I deliver a feeling, through quality recordings. I can give you powerful belts or soft whispers, whatever the emotion you are trying to evoke through your art. My style blends soulful, sultry, feminine vocals with EDM-style production.
I’m a vocalist, producer, and performer with over a decade of professional vocal training. I graduated in 2020 with a first class honours (BSc) Music Technology. For the past 8 years I’ve been refining my skills in composition and production and recently took the leap to pursue music as a career. My background includes performing live as a soul/blues vocalist with a band, creating original EDM and hip hop tracks, and developing singer-songwriter material — giving me an understanding of different genres and production styles.
After graduating, I spent some time teaching music production at a college, but soon realised I wanted to dedicate myself fully to creating and collaborating as a freelance artist. I now work primarily in Ableton Live, so I can seamlessly record doubles/harmonies and control effects in real time.
Currently, I'm in the process of building my social media presence, so this is a great time to get in touch! My focus has always been on the craft itself: learning, experimenting, and composing to find my style and niche. Now I feel ready to share and put myself out there! Alongside collaborations, I am also developing my own projects, keep checking back to hear more as I add them to my profile.
Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Interview with Ashlea
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My soon to be released vocal sample pack, I wrote, recorded and produced the whole thing myself which includes over 10 songs. I learned a lot along the way and am looking forward to seeing it go out into the world.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am working on my business, finally releasing the thousands of hours of hard work I have put into my craft over the last 10+ years. I am building my portfolio and online presence. I am also offering 1:1 vocal lessons.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! Both capture different feelings from different time. Analogue has progressively tried to achieve a "cleaner" sound over the years, subsequently evolving into the digital tech we have today. Our ears have become nostalgic for the analogue sound, so we try to digitally replicate this with plug-ins (this is evident in the popularity of genres such as lo-fi). I appreciate the technology of the past which has laid the foundation for what we have today, I look forward to what lies ahead.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will always be honest and direct. I understand how precious our music is to us so I will push myself to achieve your desired outcome.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I truly believe I was born to sing and it has taken me on many artistic, spiritual and educational journeys.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That electronic music lacks emotion/"soul" and looping is boring.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: - What is the emotion/feeling you are trying to capture/convey? - What inspired your art? - Is there a concept you would like to stick to? - What story are you trying to tell?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Clear communication, so I can understand your artistic vision, is so important.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been singing for 15 years. I performed cover gigs in the early days (dinners, weddings, funerals, charity events etc.). I eventually decided I wanted to compose and produce my own music. I enrolled in college, then university. I graduated with a 1st Class Honours in Music Technology during the pandemic so had to get very creative since I had no access to the studio during lockdown. I became proficient with Ableton Live. I also learned how to make the most of recording with limited resources and equipment. I then returned to teach music production at the college for a year when it reopened. I have decided to pursue this full-time so in the beginning stages of building my portfolio.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Either RKC or KARRA, both amazing producers and vocalists. They are also relatable and down to earth artists who have inspired and taught me a lot on my journey.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you are a recording artist, try to separate the production/editing phase from the creative/composition process. I like to compose a rough demo first and later refine it, this helps me personally to keep my mind in a "flow" state whilst creating. Try not to worry about sounding "perfect", try to capture the emotions and feeling of your art in the composition process, then move on to the mixing and editing, which I personally believe taps into a whole different state of mind that sometimes hinders the creative process when being critical over how the production sounds.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I am currently focused on EDM, House, Trance. Although I will give any genre a go. I enjoy singing blues, rock, pop and ballads.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I have meticulous attention to detail when editing vocals. A unique work flow and creativity when processing vocal effects. Versatility and experience performing many genres. I allow myself to channel raw emotion through my art, I openly express vulnerability through music. I am committed to learning and improving my skills and equipment.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Quality lyrics, raw emotions, catchy hooks and clean audio.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I compose live using Ableton Push so I can seamlessly record doubles/harmonies and control effects in real time. I am proficient in sound design and see vocal effects as an instrument, giving it as much importance as the lyrics and melody. I use reverbs, filters, delays as instruments to capture the feelings and emotions I want to convey in my art. To do this, I create custom Audio Effects Racks to manipulate through MIDI devices as I compose; to catch phrases, draw out the polyphonic overtones in long reverbs and manipulate frequencies in unique ways. I became proficient in recording at university, and can record a high quality, dry vocal for you to process in your own way also. I have meticulous attention to detail and can offer vocal processing so the audio is ready to drag and drop into your song. Saving you time and effort.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I compose and record using Ableton LIVE, my audio interface is the UA apollo | twin, I have a pair of KRK Rockets and some Alto PA Speakers that I like to run my mixes through at home. I also have access to a local studio space with high end gear to finalise my work.
