I take my inspiration from the sound of the 70s and modern alt rnb. I love music that is a collage: where two disparate parts just touch one another in the sonic-scape. I philosophize music just as much as I make it, and always set limitations for myself to work within. I produce and mix music because I love to exercise creative problem solving.
I’m based out of Atlanta, where I have lived the greater part of my life. I play bass, keys, guitar, drums, and I sing. I would say my greatest strength is either writing bass-lines or synth sound design. I have studied music theory and spend a large part of my time workshopping my own music theories. Lately I have devoted most of my time to mixing and mastering.
As a producer and mixer, I see my job as making the best out of a song in respect to the artist’s vision. Reference tracks for my production and mixing process are invaluable. To me, the vibe of a record can be extracted into concepts that can then be explored and applied to another record. A great record is simply a combination of concepts taken from other great records.
I also see my role as a producer and mixer as a interpersonal one. I care about my clients’ wellbeing above all else. I strive to be communicative in all aspects of the process, including voicing any questions or concerns. I also won’t hesitate to tell you what parts of your project speak to me most.
I love Frank Ocean, SZA, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, The Beatles, Electric Light Orchestra, Steve Miller Band, Earth, Wind, and Fire, BadBadNotGood, Solange, Cocteau Twins, Arianna Grande, Beyoncé, Peggy Gou, Doobie Brothers, Pink Floyd
