Editing
Regardless of where your project is now, I can help bring it to the next level. Vocal tuning, drum alignment, drum sample replacement, are just some of the things I can help clean up and organize in your recorded sessions.
Mixing
If you already have your tracks recorded and edited, but need everything brought together in a professional way, you're at the right place. I'm equipped to take just about any level of recording, and polish it for a radio ready sound.
Mastering
Be it one song or a full project, let me balance everything out tone wise and bring out the best in your mixs. I also prepare a DDP image along with the digital files.
Tell me about your project and how I can help, through the 'Contact' button above.
Interview with Michael 'Mic' Ferreira
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Fully digital while mixing - for now. Being able to recall, do changes on the fly and have it sent to the artist for approval is just efficient and time saving.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: The song is done when you are 100% satisfied.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I get to listen to amazing music - albeit sometimes for hours on end - and then have artists and their fans positive feedback.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I'm not a magician or which doctor. I do what i can with the source material.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you have the song ready and the instrumental stems. Major key!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't be afraid to ask questions before hiring. If you're not sure how to export files, what I might need for the project, or any other question. Feel free.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started out doing this part time in 2009, working out of a comercial studio and my home. Then in 2012 took a leap of faith, setup my room and have been at full-time since then.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Open and warm. Like a hug.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Get everything right at the source. Try to record vocals as best possible, since they'll be front and center. Also take time picking your sounds when producing.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip-Hop, Pop and R&B.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Vocals
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A fresh pair of ears!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Dependes on the song. Mostly start with bass and drums then vocals and all the rest.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm a huge Jaycen Joashua fan, also love what Manny Marroquin does and most recently I've been liking Serban Ghenea.
