John Valines on SoundBetter

I have over 25 years of experience as a sound engineer and designer, audio editor, and 15 years of experience as a podcast producer and editor. My goal is to help you reach your audience by making sure you sound excellent.

From 2006 to 2012, I produced, edited, and hosted Radio Rickshaw. Radio Rickshaw won Podcast Bunker’s Audio Excellence Award in 2007 and was featured in the Orlando Sentinel, the Orlando Weekly, Variety, Shimmy Magazine, and various online blogs. My current clients include theCross Church of Mount Dora and the Riegl RiCast.

I also lend my services to live theater and have been designing sound for theatrical productions since 1994. I was the sound designer and operator for a theatrical a cappella group called “Vox Audio.” With Vox Audio, I toured the world mixing voices that led to an off-Broadway show called “Loudmouth.” In 2004, “Loudmouth” won the Drama Desk Award for “Unique Theatrical Experience.”

I am also the Technical Director and technical improviser for the award-winning Sak Comedy Lab. I’ve taught improv, helped direct and write team-building workshops, and produced nightly live streams for Sak when the theater had to shut down for COVID. The good news is, Sak survived the pandemic and is back up and running with nightly improvised comedy shows.

All of this experience has taught me never to underestimate the power of the human voice, and I want to bring that experience to your project. I enjoy collaboration and want to work with you to help you put your best product forward.
