Amazing person. He went above and beyond, even added dope effects on my verse. I was super picky with many details of the song, and he adapted to each and every one. This dude is a legend. LEGEND.

Incredibly professional and easy to work with. Faster than anyone I have ever worked with before and has a natural ear for what sounds right. Cannot recommend him enough!

Interview with Mixing Melodies

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: The one project I'm proud of is a song I recorded and engineer called "Chew Tobacco". It was picked up by the students of Winston Salem state university and it's somewhat of the school anthem now. It was just a fun track he wanted to make and now it's the biggest production I have ever done!!!

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I've just worked with my first Spanish artist. It's been a really long journey but everything is finally falling into place,

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: I would have to say both. Sometimes it's better just to have the physical gear but I love the emulations as well, they make mixing & mastering way easier. Some physical gear sounds better than analog but analog will never break.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I will do my absolute "best" to make sure all my clients are satisfied 100%

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: The fact that I get to help bring someone's art to life, and knowing that I made their vision come into reality.

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: The number one question I always get is "what do you think about the song". I give them my honest opinion every time.

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: It's not hard, anyone can do it

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: How did you record this song? What is your vision with your song?

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: Fl studio, Maag EQ4, Soothe2, F6-RTA, CLA-76

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I've been all over the place with music. Long story short, I started off as a producer back in 2014 but ended up becoming a full-time artist in 2016. I learned music engineering from recording myself and friends through the years. I went to college in 2018 for a music business degree but switched in 2019 to business administration. Now I'm a full-time artist/audio engineer doing all that can to create the best sound possible.

  21. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  22. A: I don't have a particular artist I want to work with but I would love to work with Mike Dean. His production and engineering are out of this world and it would be an honor to work with him.

  23. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  24. A: Your ears are the most important thing when it comes to being an audio engineer. Train them to be the best they can be.

  25. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  26. A: I regularly work on Hip-hop, Pop, R&B, Trap, and many more. I'm comfortable working in those styles but I also love stepping out of my comfort zone to try new sounds.

  27. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  28. A: Using my ears.

  29. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  30. A: Making the song sound professional, clear, simple, clean, and stream-ready.

  31. Q: What's your typical work process?

  32. A: I'm very quick when it comes to engineering music. I'm able to spot the flaws in the track and correct them immediately. I try not to over-complicate my mixes and do too much early on. I try to get everything sounding good first before I do anything complex.

  33. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  34. A: Mike Dean, Andrew Dawson, Bryson Tiller, J cole. Kanye West, Drake, Jay Z

  35. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  36. A: Mixing and Mastering.
