Interview with WeslyNorth
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I just released my 1st project under the Name WeslyNorth with 5 songs, 5 different producers and a few of my favorite artists at the moment.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently I am working on my second studio EP and looking to collaborate with likeminded artists and creators.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. Without question digital is better and more convenient with folders and plug-ins versus a 670 sq foot room full of buttons and knobs that you don't even use. Digital is the way to go.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to deliver and be present with whatever we're working on.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I like most about my job is that I'm around music all day. Its amazing
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How do I pitch and tune my vocals the way I do. And I tell them its a secrets! haha
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People compare me a lot to Travis Scott and I don't know if I take it as a compliment because its sort of putting me in a box. No disrespect to him I love his music, I just don't hear it in my music at all.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Where do you see this project going? because any and everything I work on I go into it with plans to do very big.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: We will make very good music together that's a promise. My dedication to this is unmatched and I have the talent to back it up.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Mic, laptop, audio interface, headphones & pop filter.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been doing music for as long I can remember. As a kid my father was a local DJ and my mother was in the church choir so I would always be around music. I use to record myself rapping over my mothers gospel tapes haha. And I always knew I wanted to make people feel through music.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: dark, melodic & bold
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: mike dean, bon ivor, travis, drake
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: make sure to use studio monitors as well as using studio headphones. both are essential in the process. trust me

A: trap-soul is where I lean the most, but lately I've been experimenting with alternative.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: songwriting
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A Full vocal performance that might sound like 3 different people at once.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually start by listening to a beat and I let the beat take me wherever it takes me. I never force it.
