Apparently 'hybrid' musician is the way to go nowadays......I guess I fit into that category.
Guitar player in the 60's/70's.......signed to Southern music spectacularly unsuccessful!
Moved to keys in a 70's disco band .....couple of singles....... critically well received (which is of course code for no sales)......in the late 70's early 80's small pc 's changed the face of recording and I was already a software engineer and keyboard player and that changed my music trajectory. I bought a ppg wave system and was suddenly in demand as a programmer player.
For most of the 80's I played , programmed or produced many singles and albums.
I did three major tours as a player programmer and set up a studio with my partner.
The cult of the producer kinda nosedive in the 90's/00's so I went back to live work with the odd singer songwriter collaboration.
Now living in Wales with my own project studio I'm looking to work with like minded musicians.
