Interview with Mira Mortem Audio
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Emotive, Raw, Inspiring.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I typically work with alternative metal music, which intrigues me the most since there are so many conventions still to be broken within the modern metal scene. However, with my influences, I am just as enthralled with working on EDM, pop, indie tracks.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: The biggest addition I bring to a song is the ability to blend the surgical precision of working with modern music, and the edge/humanity that most modern music loses after it has been processed. Art, after all, is the most human convention that we have and once we automate it, we lose the humanity that we originally sought after.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Whenever I start on a project, I tend to flesh out the overall vibe and attitude of the song. This entails finding the key piece in the project that represents the entirety of the song. Once I key in on this, I focus on shaping the other instrumentals around this. Once I find a solid balance between all the elements, I find how I can add novelty to the project without detracting from the overall aforementioned 'vibe'.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Out of all the music professionals out there, the one that stands out for inspiration is George Lever. George has a great ear for blending convention and novelty in an artist's project that I strive to provide for my clients and my own music.
