SemogEng Online Engineer on SoundBetter

Online audio worker, 3 courses: my belief is accuracy about great analysis.

Online engineer, over 30 projects completed; 3 in-person courses with diplomas.

I won't promise your voice or instrumentals like your favorite artists, since I don't know their styles about plug-ins or gears chain, but I will work your music to the best about potential, using my own tricks:
- Emulations through ARC 3 software or ARC 2.5 (or both)...
- Will not only use speakers and headphones, but test with a real television too;
- I will or not use my Alesis 3630, you decide, after recording through this I will ensure none noise, even with denoising being applied;
- I will analyze for lacks about your recordings like bad reverberation, noises and try to remove without sounding bad, for this plug-ins like Acon Digital Extract::Dialogue are good;

I work any music genre, but I avoid some songs like covers for example and I prefer to have the lyrics to follow while working...

Delivery = 16-bit + 24-bit 48 kHz + 48 kHz mp3 (for listening to compatible sources like mp3 TVs).

Revisions? 3.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: Quality, I did not prepare myself with courses in vain, I want to provide good quality services for my clients.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Analog, I like the way it works, the one I have I enjoy so much the sound and were it goes about signal, but plug-ins are nice too and can be enough for a nice work.

  7. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  8. A: Deadline related things, price and if I use analog. I say I can do faster or slow, depends of the whole aspect of the songs and now I am using this Alesis 3630 into my workflow.

  9. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  10. A: A synthpop that the guy is now my friend, he's very tallented. I was the engineer.

  11. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  12. A: Contests, beats and some projects that come.

  13. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  14. A: I like so much music, how can the human create it and for me mixing and mastering is very funny.

  20. A: Years

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: I don't like a dry song in general, but not so much modified, I am between light and heavy, not so much light, not so much heavy song style. I listen to a lot of genres.

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: Peter Gabriel. Sonority of his songs, ideas, he's a very tallented person. I also am a fan of my teacher Will Geraldo, he's a genius and very kind person.

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: Try to find some answers yourself, a lot of things to learn, but a lot you assimilate.

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: I have my preferences about mixing and mastering, but I don't grab myself about so much concepts, if the song is great, I want to work this project.

  31. Q: What's your typical work process?

  32. A: I receive the file, analyze for issues and if it has a minimal for being worked, if not I ask for record again, so start to look for great ideas for the whole thing, do the corrective and creative aspects, analyze more and deliver in the mixing case 3 versions: 32, 24 and 16-Bit, 32 for another engineer mastering it, 24/16 for launching directly if approved. I try to stay -3 of peak for a great headroom and for mastering also accept from stems.

  39. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  40. A: In my opinion the desire people have about their song sounding like another one. Why? Every song is different, is like people, every person is different. You can have similarities, but references are only for an idea, not the idea. It's my opinion.
