WEMU was formed in 2014 by Dean (Australia) and Roman (Russia) through a chance encounter online. Since meeting, they've established a label, WE Music Unlimited (WEMU), an Ambient/Electronic Duo called Ambientronic and a Production Music collaboration, Starcats Project. ---
WEMU is a music production partnership specializing in original composition and sound design for TV, Film, Video Games and Commercials. We deliver a world-class sound to your music project and have accomplished success with credits that include writing, arranging and producing music for a soon to be launched video game and a Pop/Dance Jingle for a National Car Audio Brand in Australia (sample included in our Sound Better profile).
WEMU is a team of 2 that also has a large group of collaboration partners we can call on where the project requires it (ie male and female vocalists in multiple genres around the world).
We like to work on projects where we can be part of the final, released works, preferring a small fee and a % over pure fee work if we believe in the project.
We primarily work in the Ambient, Electronic, Dance & Pop genres and often enjoy blending different styles to create unique, memorable tracks.
If you need a complete jingle (Music, Lyrics and Vocals), a piece of music for your next corporate video (BGM) or a song writing/collaboration partner, write to us and let us know what you are looking to do.
We'd love to hear about your project.
Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.
Interview with WEMU
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Working on final mixing and mastering of our 2nd album. Will be released mid September, 2016.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: If you aren't happy... and there was a fee attached... we'll happily cancel the project and refund your money.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Getting an emotional reaction. Nothing better.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: As they say in IT... garbage in, garbage out. It's all about the brief. Our first question is do you have a brief... and then, does the brief provide an appropriate amount of detail/information in order for us to do our work.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't discount the power of a well thought out arrangement. In a technical sense, music is often about patterns and anticipation, that is, to have a collection of interesting musical parts, melodies, chords etc..., that are arranged so as to bring the listener with you towards an emotive, often uplifting, pay off.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Making music that drives emotion. This usually means a strong focus on Melody (Vocal and Lead Synth) and Chord Progressions combined with an appropriate Arrangement.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: As a team of 2, based in Russia and Australia, our influences are varied, but are mainly in the Electronic Music space. We both listen to a lot of Severed Heads, Boards Of Canada, Deadmau5 & Gus Gus.
