Keno Kai on SoundBetter

Get clear, dynamic mixes from an engineer who listens to what you want.

My ultimate goal is to take your vision of what you want your mix to sound like and make it a reality.
To accomplish this, I ask you important questions about your taste so that I can get a clear picture of who you are and what sound represents you.

Take a listen to the before and after demo track.
The final sound was accomplished only after extensive communication with the artist and confirmation that this was the sound he was looking for.

With over 5 years of experience, I specialise in electronic music. My inspiration and style come from Techno and House, so that's the flavour you'll get. I also Mix & Master Trap/Hip Hop, with clients enjoying my creative approach to the genre. You can find examples of this on my portfolio site below.

If you want your subpar idea to transform into a professional, dance-ready track as it should be, you've come to the right place.

Working with Keno has been a pleasure.
He was punctual - he took into consideration exactly what i asked for and I was happy with the final product without any need for extra revisions.
He mixed my song quickly and professionally and added his own touch that really brought my song to life.
I will be working with him again as I'm confident he will not disappoint me.

Interview with Keno Kai

  1. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  2. A: I want a good grasp on what sound they're going for. Ill ask them for things like their favorite tracks, how much bass they like (given choices by song), and other various questions throughout the mixing process.

  3. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  4. A: Make sure the engineer doesn't just see your track as a number and only aims to finish it as fast as possible. That usually just means they aim for maximum profit without putting the special attention and care into the track that it deserves.

  5. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  6. A: Someone like Stephan Bodzin would be a wonder to work with. There's so much detail and change throughout every song that mixing it would be a delight. His music always tells a story without words and that's just beautiful.

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: Especially with EDM music, it's very easy to have the track be too busy all the time. That can be repetitive and tiring on the listener's ears. Make sure you take out elements and use automation frequently enough so that your track has enough contrast and remains interesting.

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: I work with all types of EDM music, however I mostly work on Techno (my LIFE), House and Trance.

  11. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  12. A: Mixing is where my specialty lies, and that's what everyone knows me for. I also have skill in mastering. I give arrangement advice and make changes with permission from the artist if i find it necessary.

  13. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  14. A: It's Musical Science! Mixing is one of those jobs that scratches my analytical, problem-solving side as well as my creative side all in one. It also helps me understand people through the music they make. It's a way to open your mind and explore different cultures and tastes.

  15. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  16. A: Communication, Professionalism and Satisfaction.
