Music producer

Anthony @BDMbeats on SoundBetter

Guitar player/singer turned #beatmaker

I've been making music for more than 10 years now. So my first beat was probably the 50th song I wrote. Writing beats is kind of my attempt at leaving my comfort zone and embracing a new approach to songwriting. I've always been more of a rock music guy, so the beats I make come from a guy who gets inspired mostly by non Hip-Hop genre artists. Also my beat-producing perspective is way different than the one of most beat makers.
So if you're looking for a unique sounding exclusive beat you should look no further.

Interview with Anthony @BDMbeats

  1. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  2. A: Halsey as an artist (I have a band).

  3. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  4. A: I learnt to treat vocals as a melody and to transpose all vocal parts (that have pitch) into midi and work around that.

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: Hip-Hop, Trap, Alternative Rock, Pop, Pop Rock, Rock

  7. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  8. A: Hard to speak about myself, but I believe that it's a melody or a lick.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: I love beautiful melodies and when a track creates an atmosphere of it's own. That's what I aim to do every time.

  11. Q: What's your typical work process?

  12. A: I receive a vocal track from a client. Structure it, find the key, sometimes tune and quantise. Then I start to write counter melodies in midi format. Once there's plenty of them I upload them to Pro Tools and start to play around with different samples and sounds looking for the moment when magic appears. Then goes a creative that's hard to put into words.

  13. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  14. A: Korg synth, Pro Tools 12 and many numerous sample libraries and plugins.

  15. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  16. A: I have rock music background and was (and still is) a huge fan of bands like Linkin Park and Guns N Roses. But now I enjoy the way a track is produced, be it Drake, Weeknd, Royal Blood or Ed Sheeran.

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: They send me a vocal track and I write a beat around it.
