I have a genuine passion for creating and performing music. I have gained a deep experience playing since early childhood and worked with numerous artists and musicians in different places and styles. I would love to share that experience in creating more high quality music that will uplift and entertain people ! Please do get in touch.
My real love is to play piano/keyboards/Hammond B3 - in many different styles ranging from classical to jazz, blues, soul, pop, gospel and Christian worship. I love to improvise and create, arrange and produce new music either for an existing song/lyrics or from scratch.
I also play rhythm guitar, drums, percussion and blues harmonica
I am very interested in helping any artists that need keyboard parts, composition and songwriting and arrangements.
Would love to hear from you with your ideas/requests.

I was very fortunate to find Ben. He understood what I was trying to achieve right away, and he promptly came back with an excellent interpretation. After two rounds of minor revisions, the piano track was ready to go. Everyone who has heard the track so far thinks we got it right! I have other jobs, so I will be asking for Ben's help again in the future.
Interview with Ben Waddilove
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Creating production/library music, writing contemporary songs for a young unsigned artist, writing Christian worship songs.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I love to accompany any really talented vocalists.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Improvising and composing with the piano
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I work best in the early morning after a good walk with the dog! I usually compose and write songs and music for media on my acoustic piano or guitar and like to review and re-write before taking anywhere near the studio. I will then compile a score and lead sheets and lyric sheets For songs I take a fairly traditional approach of recording drums/bass first followed by main instruments, then vocals then licks/solos/extras after that. Mixing tends to happen through the process. For production music I will take the completed and scored theme and orchestrate in the studio using different instruments to create the mood required.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I am very fortunate to have a good studio environment, acoustically treated, with a reliable near-field monitoring space, vocal booth and rehearsal and live space. I work within Logic Pro-x and have a Yamaha P-250 stage piano to control Midi parts, a very good Ivory II Steinway Grand piano sample library and a high quality orchestral sample library from Spitfire Audio
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To work professionally and reliably and give maximum effort to each project.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Being around music on a daily basis. Meeting and collaborating with other artists.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Perhaps that we write/compose straight off 'in one take' - the reality is that usually many hours of work and re-writes go into a finished composition.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your ultimate goal for the music project? How can we achieve that goal? What is the specific plan to get there?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Believe in your ability to create unique music that only you can create and that can uplift and entertain people! Believe in the power of collaborating and working with others.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Piano, acoustic guitar, harmonicas, drums, tape recorder!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been playing piano since early childhood, composing and performing since my teens.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Relaxed, friendly, very enthusiastic and based on Christian values
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Be very open to combining different instruments and styles!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Christian worship music, contemporary songs, music for media
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A unique combination of all the music I have ever listened to and played and an enthusiasm to make things work!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love the jazz greats like Oscar Peterson, Keith Jarrett and the late Chick Corea.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am involved with a variety of projects at any one time, ranging from songwriting and producing for young unsigned artists, composing music for media, playing keys parts for other bands and for events.
