Interview with Joshua Eubanks at KMG Studios
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: They both have their moments of shine. Analog Gear helps me on the front end and back end when it comes to tracking and mastering. The digital world takes over for me in the actual mixing process. All in all I take a hybrid approach so I usually work in both worlds.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What record(s) do you want this project to sound like, and what records do you want this project to beat? What would you say is the defining characteristic of your music? Who are your musical influences?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: have everything organized, and provide a few reference mixes that will allow a mixing engineer to hear your musical vision. Also, do not be afraid to communicate exactly how you feel. vague answers get vague results. the more precise you are, the more precise the fix will be.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Some of my biggest inspirations are teezio, leslie brathwaite and josh gudwin
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of the services provided are with tracking vocals and mixing and mastering songs and projects
