Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: I recently mixed a song where the artist felt unsure about their vocals. After I delivered the mix and master, they told me it sounded like their first “real” record. Moments like that remind me why I do this.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I’m working on a hip-hop track with both male and female vocals over a carnival-style, Kanye-inspired beat — blending clarity, texture, and creative effects.

A: Absolutely — that’s my specialty. Clean, bright, modern vocal mixes are what I deliver.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: That mixing is just adding EQ and compression. Mixing is emotion and vibe — it’s shaping a moment into something people want to replay.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: What reference song matches the vibe you want? Do you prefer clean or more creative vocals? How bright do you like your vocals? Any effects or transitions you want included?

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Choose someone who understands your sound and communicates well. Mixing is creative — you want someone who listens to your vision, not just turns knobs.

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: UAD Apollo, SM7B, MacBook, Yamaha HS8 monitors, and my hard drive with all my plug-ins.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I started as an artist recording myself, then became obsessed with mixing. I’ve engineered consistently ever since and now work out of professional studios in Charlotte, delivering high-level vocal mixes every week. Business Management Degree.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: Clean, modern, emotional, and industry-ready. I focus on clarity and brightness without losing warmth or energy.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: I’d love to work with Travis Scott or Don Toliver — I love their vocal style, textures, and creative energy. Their sound leaves room for experimental mixing and unique vocal effects.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Clean your low end. Most mixes fall apart because the kick and 808 fight each other. Fixing masking, sidechaining, and proper EQing can instantly elevate your mix.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Hip-hop, R&B, melodic rap, drill, trap, and pop.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: Vocal mixing. I’m great at making vocals cut through the mix without sounding harsh — and making the low end sit tight without clashing.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I bring clarity, energy, and emotion. My mixes make vocals stand out without losing the vibe of the beat. I know how to make raw vocals feel like a finished record.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: I start by cleaning and organizing vocals, then I tune, compress, EQ, and add creative effects to bring emotion and clarity. Once the mix is balanced, I master the track so it hits hard on all platforms. I communicate with clients throughout the process to make sure the vision stays right.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: My setup includes high-quality monitoring, a treated room, clean preamps, modern plug-ins, and a workflow built for fast, clean vocal processing. Bae preamp, Distressor compressor, Manley Gold Ref Microphone, CLA-10 modified monitors.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I’m inspired by engineers like Mike Dean, MixedByAli, and OZ. I also pull influence from artists like Kanye West and Travis Scott for creativity, energy, and sonic style.

A: I specialize in mixing and mastering vocals for hip-hop, R&B, melodic rap, and pop artists. Most clients come to me when they want clean, modern, bright vocals that sit perfectly on top of the beat.
