Interview with OMO Studio
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Jordan Baywood & Seth Smyers he referred me but they have taught me a lot in this field through webinars & YouTube Videos! Truly Blessings.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: The sample on my page because it’s one of my cleanest mixes to date and sounds amazing! My role was engineer of the track I put it all together and couldn’t be anymore proud of the outcome.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A couple locally sourced clients EP and future singles.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital mainly because of declutter solutions and they’re emulating plugins for analog gear, although I do have a analog preamp and compressor I don’t use them as much anymore because I have the plugins to emulate the sound.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: If your not satisfied for whatever reason you’ll get a free session to better said project or create a new one and or a free mix!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I’m my own boss!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Why don’t you have outboard gear? My response is simply, Because they’re obsolete I have emulating plugins that naturally do the same as outboard gear.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: We can make anything sound good, it’s misconstrued because if your vocal comp and takes aren’t good if your vocals are distorting out the gate there’s no saving it I don’t do vocal restoration I don’t have software for it so with that being said if your tales aren’t clean there’s no way I can mix it and make it sit in the mix it’s not gonna work so think about what you send before you send it.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Is it really ready for mixing & mastering?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure to fill in the blanks don’t send a song and no ideas it’s your music so it’s should ultimately have your touch!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Mic,Interface,CPU,Keyboard & Weed!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: It had to be music! Since I was young I was fascinated by music the ensemble of songs and all the instruments used just to make one record and how they play so well together! I remembered lyrics more then my homework. I use to write songs and raps when I was 8/9 yrs old but it was only when I turned 16 I had the opportunity to visit a professional studio and it changed my life forever I knew that this was what I wanted to do and I was set on making it happen it wasn’t easy but I finally got my foot in the door!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: New,Refreshing but definitely clean & competitive
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: One artist I’d love the opportunity to work with would be NoCap TheBackEndChild!
