Hey my name's Michael Day, I'm a Songwriter/Guitarist/Mix Engineer.

I'm available here for you to hire as a session musician, Mix Engineer and Songwriter. Currently, any tracks I record for you belong to you, I don't take any ownership of the tracks, they are yours to do as you please. (Exemptions apply if I am commissioned to write a complete song)

Acoustic Guitar:
L+R Stems, stereo or mono acoustic guitar recording to be used in your own compositions.
Create a guitar part for your song.

Mixing + Editing:
A complete mix of your tracks. (EQ, Compression, Distortions/Saturations, Reverbs, Delays, and other audio effects)
Tune vocals.
Edit tracks in time.
Mix stems from your home recordings.

Songwriting:
Write parts for your songs. (Acoustic Guitar, Electric, Banjo, Ukulele, Vocals)
Compose melody/harmonies, chord progressions and top lines.
Play acoustic guitar.
Sing vocals/harmonies.
Write entire songs.

Interview with Michael Day

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: I want you to be happy with the end result; If you're not, be honest with me. I will do my best to make your ideas become a reality.

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: I am predominantly a Folk/Indie/Roots Musician, however, can record acoustic guitar for any type of genre. Finger picking is my particular strength having studied classical guitar for over 8 years. A beautifully crafted fingerpicking melody or riff on an acoustic guitar is a favorite of mine.

  5. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  6. A: I am a Mac and Ableton user, with a Clarret Interface. I currently have a range of mics available as well as multiple guitars. My mics include: Rode NT1, Shure SM7b, Shure Sm58 beta, Shure Sm 57, Behringer B1, AT2020, Guitars Include: Cole Clark fat Lady 3, Furch, Ibanez Artcore Hollow Body, Fender Strat, Esteve Classical Guitar and a Fender Jazz Bass. I also have a Ukulele and a Deering Banjo. Other: I use a Fender Princeton - silver face and a Yamaha CP73 Stage Piano.

Terms Of Service

I allow a maximum of two revisions.
Current turn around time is 5 days. (Allow a week ideally for me, but happy to discuss if needed earlier).
Acoustic Guitar includes a L+R track if desired.
