Interview with Malik Ati

  1. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  2. A: Some of the question can be : the overall goal of your song, have you a reference track, or the reference guitar sound that you want me to get ideas and inspiration from, tell me everything you have in mind ,why did you create this song, did you think of someone or something, do you want make people dance, cry, laugh , make love ? what freedom do you give me in the creation of guitar tracks for your song ?

  3. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  4. A: I would like to be part of a team of producers/ composers for a top world artist. I love creating melodies on lyrics, and i appreciate collaboration between artists.

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: I know how to put myself at the service of the artistic work; I understand what an artist wants even if he doesn't have the precise words to explain it.

  7. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  8. A: Often the client has trouble expressing what he wants for his song or his film, we discuss a lot then finally he asks me: "do you understand what I want ? " my answer is .. yes - a real yes cause I know how to put myself at the service of the artistic work; I understand what an artist wants even if he doesn't have the precise words to explain it.

  9. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  10. A: Using the best of both the analog and digital domains can provide a great workflow. Nothing beats a good old fender tube amp that has heated up well, Of course we all know that Digital gives ease.
