This is my first time working with Artemis, but definitely won't be my last. I so appreciate the time he took to clearly understand my vision and to help me understand the changes he was making to my production. Obviously, those changes sound sick or I wouldn't be here raving! Very talented, professional, and open artist - highly recommend working with him.

Anthony and I have worked together on several projects, after my time as A&R for Sony Music we soon teamed up to write for my new label, Leakmob that eventually signed artists like Blackbear. He’s great with production and writing. If you need some guidance, help with the creative aspect or production hit him up.

I’ve known Artemis for a year or two now and can truly say he’s nothing short of being pro at what he’s does wether it be instrumental production or vocal production. Consistently impressed by his ability to produce quality music in multiple genres. Anyone looking for someone with integrity and fast turnover times should look no further.

Interview with Artemis

  1. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  2. A: I dont like these questions

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: All of my releases under PRBLMS are probably the most fun. I did everything for those, beat/melodies/lyrics/vocals (aside from some features).

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: Hopefully your project! ....Eh? Eh?

  7. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  8. A: I don't actually know anybody on here. But they all seem neat.

  9. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  10. A: Digital

  11. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  12. A: I won't let it out of this studio until it's objectively a good song.

  13. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  14. A: How many questions are there. holy crap.

  15. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  16. A: Usually money related questions. I'm pretty flexible, shoot me a pitch and we'll work something out.

  17. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  18. A: That its cheating. We all need help sometimes. Even I have my go-to people to get me unstuck.

  19. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  20. A: Who's are you trying to reach with this What kind of feeling/vibe do you want this to inspire?

  21. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  22. A: Tell me what your goals are for the song. We will get it to there.

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: I need all of my gear.. and I hate this question. How did I get to the island? Can I bring a phone to call for help? Who brought me here?

  25. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  26. A: I started playing music in bands around my local scene, toured for a bit, eventually started writing Pop and realized how much I loved it. I've been doing productions in this style for about 5 years.

  28. A: Bouncy, catchy, emotional.

  29. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  30. A: Free Brittany

  31. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  32. A: You have to dig deep for real criticism or you'll never know where to get better.

  33. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  34. A: Pop, hip hop, trap, indie, lofi, emo/alt

  35. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  36. A: attention management (figuring out the low energy parts of the song and fixing them to keep your listeners from skipping and moving on)

  37. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  38. A: A unique understanding of what's IN and what's cringe, catchiness, attention grabbing at the right parts

  39. Q: What's your typical work process?

  40. A: Establish a goal for the song, tear it apart, put it back together 100x, deliver something that can hit that milestone the client is looking for.

  42. A: Cubase 10.5, RME Babyface, Avantone CV-12 Mic, Kali Audio monitors, Keyboard, Guitar, Bass.
