Tone Royal is an Austin-based artist. He was featured on the mysa.com list of the “21 rising stars in their 20s” from San Antonio. He took home 1st place in Austin’s Rap For A Stack competition...twice. Most recently his EP 'Late' won Album of the Year at the 2019 ATX Hip-Hop Awards. He was also selected as an official SXSW artist in 2020.
I've been making music professionally for 6 years, and 2020 was the most fruitful. I made a viral song for the San Antonio Spurs (Click the song in the top right to hear it!) This song won the NBA's Covid Content of the Year Award. Ya man has an NBA Award! I also teamed up with the Spurs again to make a voting awareness song and it had a major sponsorship from AARP. Shortly after I was contacted by Austin's professional Rugby team to create their official team song. My music has grown at a rapid pace and I've been blessed to travel throughout the US, and even performed a sold-out show in Toronto. I create Songs for TV, film, & video games, and have made jingles for podcasts and commercials! I love creating and connecting, so feel free to press that contact button and hit me up. We can make something dope!
I'm also a professional announcer for the NCAA & NBA so if you need professional voice-over work I got you!
(Will happily email you my professional announcing reel if requested)

Had a great time working with Tone Royal. He is very professional, excellent communication and asking the right questions if there are any. His quick delivery was impressive and he nailed what I was looking for. Highly recommend!
Tone is amazing! I’ve seen him live and the energy he creates in the room is undeniable! He also did the intro for my podcast and we get compliments on it regularly! He is also one of the kindest souls, so I cannot recommend him enough!
Tone Royal is a pleasure to work with. He knew the exact things I needed for my project before I even knew! I’ve been working with him time and time again and he’s never failed to impress
Ray is one of the most talented people I've ever met. From the creation of his own music to the creation of the songs with the San Antonio Spurs and the AG Rugby team song. I was elated when the team I work with at AG Rugby brought Ray on for the creation of our team song. He went above and beyond what was expected or required and put his heart and soul into it. His own music is absolutely incredible as well. I'm pretty sure I'm in the top % of his listeners on Spotify. He's extremely professional and dedicated, and will go the extra mile to make sure his finished product will blow people away
Tone is very professional and has an amazing voice! He made the whole songwriting / recording experience easy and smooth. Great product, can’t wait to work together again
Quite simply Tone has helped put our Rugby team on the map here in Austin. The WE ARE AG theme song created by Tone has taken on a life of it's own and has become the integral part of our marketing efforts. Tone is a pro and alot of fun to work with and is open and willing to do whatever it took for us to be successful! Highly, highly recommend him for your opportunity. Reach out to me and I would be happy to discuss his efforts in more detail! Mike Sheehan, GM OF AG RUGBY!!
Ray is one of the most talented and passionate artists I know. Not to mention a super sweet and easy guy to work with. We have two fire songs together and have performed a few times together and he absolutely demolishes it every single time. Hire this man!
Interview with TONE ROYAL
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Creating the song for the San Antonio Spurs 'Do The Five' campaign is the project I'm most proud of. I made every decision on the song from selecting the beat, which was created by Stephen Bennett, to writing and recording the song. I also provided multiple song versions so it could be used on different social media platforms. It was a ton of responsibility but ultimately having full trust from a great organization like the Spurs was exhilarating.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently producing multiple tik-tok campaign songs. This includes creating visuals and editing the video production that goes hand-in-with the song.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: DEVMO! she's one of the best female musicians in the game and has worked for many top-tier clients.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Why not both? It depends on the project. Some songs work better with analog, others come out stronger with digital gear. Adapt to the project is what I say.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I put all my passion into every project. I'll work my hardest to deliver a product that my client is 100% satisfied with.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creating art. It's music. It's my ultimate passion. I'm blessed to do it as a profession!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Most people assume I only make hip-hop music, but I've tackled multiple genres successfully. I'm a fanatic of all music.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Are available for a video call so I can understand your vision fully.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Have examples of what sound you're looking for.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Andre 3000 because he's selective of who he works with and that means that I would have made it and make music he approves of haha.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I can create a commercial song that still sounds unique in style and stands out from the pack!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Dope Rhymes ;)
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I find a beat that matches the vibe the client is looking for. Once the track is found I light a scented candle, sip some water and begin writing. A lot of snacks are consumed, I pace around my room and have the track blaring on repeat. I also set my overhead lights to a color that matches the energy of the song.
