Dominic Givney is a Sydney-based sound engineer, musician, songwriter, and session guitarist. First developing his skills, and gaining experience in recording and mixing as an assistant at Jungle Studios in Annandale (now Parliament Studios), he is now working as a freelancer with young indie bands.
"I have had the great pleasure to assist under many sessions over the past couple of years with Lachlan Mitchell, including tracking and mix sessions for The Jezabels, Something With Numbers, The Vines and Enola Fall. I have also assisted Nathan Sheehy while tracking Dune Rats and Bluejuice (with producer Dann Hume), and J.P. Fung with Nova and the Experience. This wealth of experience under such great engineers/producers/songwriters has enabled me to greatly expand my knowledge and skills in a short space of time.
I am currently working as an Audio Engineer, Music Producer, Mix Engineer, Sound Recordist and Session Guitarist. I have also recently composed music for short film "Little Ghosts", directed by Mike Salisbury.
I am keen to explore any and all opportunities within the realm of recorded sound, so please feel free to contact me with any queries!"
Recent clients include The Kava Kings, Ant Beard, Letters to Lions and Daniel Twining for music, and Unilever, Notre Dame university for Sound Recordist duties, which you can listen to below:
