Professional banjo player, passionate about folk & traditional, especially Irish trad music. Usually touring Europe and US with celtic rock band Uncle Bard & The Dirty Bastards and new trad quartet Gadan.
I’ve been playing music since I was a kid; I started with guitar then I fell in love with tenor banjo!
Also playing mandolin, tenor guitar & bouzouki.
I’ve a deep passion for folk and trad music, especially Irish Traditional Music. Back in the day I spent large part of my life traveling up and down from Italy to Ireland; that’s how I fell in love with Irish music, society and culture, learning directly from the best Irish banjo & mandolin players out there.
In 2007 I founded the folk/rock band Uncle Bard & The Dirty Bastards (www.ubdirtybastards.com), the first Italian band ever playing at Dublin Irish Festival in Dublin, Ohio (US), the most important Irish music festival in the United States, together with bands such as WeBanjo3, Gaelic Storm, Altan, Aoife Scott, The East Pointers.
3 albums worldwide released, around 1000 gigs all over the world, constantly touring and sharing stages with names such as Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly and others. With Gadan I embarked on our first US tour in October 2022 to support the release of our new self-titled album.
I've been resident sound engineer for live venues in North Italy for years, then founded my own recording studio. Not much time left nowadays but when I'm not touring or writing new stuff, I still do productions, recording, mixing and mastering.
