Worked with Nacho in five projects since 2018. Highly professional, talented, easy-going, flexible and devoted to his craft. Will continue to work to him for years to come. 100% recommended.

Interview with Nacho Sosa

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: I am 23 years old and began my music journey at the age of 9 when I started to play guitar. Then in 2012, I had my first experiences playing live with different projects as invited musician. In 2015 visited a recording studio, and my life changed forever, so I decided to start Music Production career. I earned my music producer degree in 2017 and continued my formation taking courses and masterclasses. In 2018 I decided to start a solo artist career by releasing my first single named ¨Hay un Lugar¨, produced by me. Last year I began to work as session musician, and that inspired me to look for a platform where I can expand myself. So I ended up here in Soundbetter, hoping to work a lot and creating interesting music.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: All the projects I worked, have some place in my heart. I leave a part of me there. If I have to take one, it would be Atypical, Andes Guazzelli´s brand new album about TDAH, because the concept really touch me deep inside. The idea of converting TDAH symptoms into music was really challenging. In this project, I recorded lead guitars, rythmic guitars and basses in the most songs.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: It´s an interesting question, mostly I work with digital stuff, but analogue has some kind of mojo that makes it special.

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: Do not obsess with gear. Work with the stuff you have, try to know everything about it, and the most important thing, use your ears. If it sounds good it´s all right.

  9. Q: What's your typical work process?

  10. A: Once the client contact me, I ask what he/she are looking for. The next step is to hear the project and take a few notes. Then I work on the specific issues the client request me. In the process, we exchange files, projects, ideas, and adjustments to develope a great final result. Focused to make the client happy and satisfied with the work done and the music as well.

  11. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  12. A: In this moment I´m working on some guitars for an Andrés Guazzelli comming up new song, and also in my next album as solo artist.

  13. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  14. A: No, I am really new on the platform, but I hope to connect with new people that shares the same passion.

  15. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  16. A: My promise is that I will give my 100% to do the best work possible. Music is my life.

  17. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  18. A: Knowing new people around the world that share my passion to work with and the possibility to convey feelings trough the music, it´s therapeutic.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Know what they are looking for first, it´s important.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Laptop, Monitors, MIDI Controller, Interface and my guitar.

  23. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  24. A: The main genre I work is rock and it´s variants such as pop-rock, alternative rock, folk rock, funk rock, progresive rock etc...

  25. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  26. A: My strongest skill is to be versatile, not over playing, adjust myself to what the song needs.

  27. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  28. A: I bring passion, creativity, feeling and groove.

  29. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  30. A: Dell Inspiron I7 16gb ram + all software needed. Focusrite 18i8 2nd gen interface. KRK Rokit 5 Studio Monitors. AKG K240 Studio Headphones. Novation Launchkey Mini MK3 MIDI Controller. 31. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  32. A: As a guitar player, my main influences are Gustavo Cerati, John Mayer and David Gilmour. In the music production field, Dave Pensado and Warren Huart are such great inspirations.

  33. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  34. A: I provide high quality guitar tracking, music production and mix engeneering services.

  35. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  36. A: I think I would like to work with Gustavo Cerati if he were alive, because I really love the passion and obsession that he had with audio gear and guitars.

  37. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  38. A: They ask me if I need anything additional material to work with. Sometimes I ask them for a Chord chart, or some references that help me to do it.

  39. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  40. A: I think that most people think that us, musicians or producers, don´t work. They are wrong!

  41. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  42. A: Mostly questions about the project, what they are looking for and when they want the job to be done.

  43. Q: How would you describe your style?

  44. A: I´m very passionate, creative, methodic and responsable. As regards guitar playing I think I am a very versatile player. I play with heart and soul, I´m not a shredder.
