My name is Tass Coomber. An SAE and University of Tasmania graduate; I have an attained wealth of experience as a session musician, audio engineer, producer and artist for several music projects from Hobart, across to Melbourne and Perth. If you have a project, I can help you realise its full artistic and sonic potential.

My approach to mixing is utilised in Protools 12 with a comprehensive blend of hardware and the industry standard software available on the market. I believe that mixing is an art-form, so I am always well equipped to deliver the right aesthetic for you music.

Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. I use analog and digital technology in a balanced harmony.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Intertwined with width, punch, depth, height, balance and clarity; I believe that it's incredibly important to consider aesthetic. The sonic character of a mix is like a limb to the artistic integrity of song, which is what I believe I am best at delivering to other artists' music.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Macbook Pro 2015, Focusrite Scarlett 18i8, KRK Rockit8 Monitors + complimentary headphones. Extended by an Akai M9 Crossfield Reel-to-reel tape recorder, Akai APC40 and Ableton Push. A deliberate minimal setup for max mobility. In the box, running ProTools 11 and Ableton Live with complete software from Waves, MeldaProduction, Focusrite, Avid + more.

A: Anthony Garvin, Forrester Savell, Steve Albini, Brian Eno, Richard Ingram, Ben Frost. _________________________ Underworld, Flying Lotus, Thom Yorke/Radiohead, MY DISCO, Bonobo, Daedelus + many more.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am a mixing engineer, specialising in electronic/indie music.
