Hi! If you're looking for a spunky and outgoing person who is passionate about music, you found her! My name is Isabell Thao. I am a 22 year old singer/songwriter currently residing in the midde of nowhere in Long Prairie, MN. I'm a very versatile writer but I specialize in country music. I'd love to hear your ideas and goals for your music!
I have been writing songs since I was 13. I grew up in a very musical family and learned to play guitar to accompany my voice and expand my songwriting skills. I currently work as a Pharmacy technician, but I consider myself a full time singer/songwriter as I am always singing to myself and writing down clever lyrics I think of. Contact me today if you're interested in hearing samples of songs that I am selling, want me to personally help you write a song or start from scratch and write a song made just for you.
I also sing and do voiceovers. I have a higher vocal range with a strong rasp.
Send me a note through the contact button above.

Interview with Isabell Thao
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I have had the privilege to work with many talented artists who I am proud to call my friends. I've had Bea Go on my first EP doing harmonies and backing vocals and we've written songs together. My best friend Amanda Yang and I are constantly writing and singing. We make the best duo. There are many more talented artists i've worked with but those two top the list!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently just writing songs and adding them to my song bank for sale or on hold for my future country album.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to make a song that you will love! If you don't love it, I'll give you your money back!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People think that country music is all about tractors and corn fields. It's not. The beauty about country music is telling a story about something that feels pure and real to you. It's about being in a world without social media and all this craziness that the world provides.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started out on YouTube as a singer/songwriter when I was 16. My fanbase then grew and I went through many changes throughout my life causing me to go on a hiatus until I was 19. I began writing again and decided that it was what I loved. I have geared my writing towards country music because it allows me to tell a story and speak to the listeners about my experience. It's really helped me open up my mind to new songwriting horizons. Now I'm 21 and my writing skills have only grown through more time and experience.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: People call me the asian Taylor Swift. Although I do not take offense to that, I like to describe my style as upbeat, emotional and real. I always have a story to tell in my songs.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Kelsea Ballerini or Maren Morris because their songs always inspire me. I would love to know their writing inspiration and process.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring originality and honesty to my songs that I write. I infuse real emotion and stories together to create a song that can make an audience feel connected to it.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I prefer talking over Skype or Facetime about your needs for your song. I would also write down details you want included in the song and send you over samples of the song for your personal revision.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I currently do not have a studio set up. But I have a Blue Yeti Mic to record vocals.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Country and Pop.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Tori Kelly, Meaghan Trainor, Dan+Shay, Maren Morris, and Kelsea Ballerini.
