Recording, Mixing & Mastering

I worked with Ned to record an album a few years ago. Not only was he professional and efficient, but he often offered up creative ideas that were thoughtful and made the overall sound better. He was very easy to work with when conceptualizing and forming ideas. He was always open to new ideas and made the whole process very fun. If I lived in Portland Maine, Ned would be the guy I would go to again.

I have worked with Ned on albums and EPs over the past 17 years and intend to continue doing so. His skills as a musician, engineer, and producer have grown massively. We recorded our album with Ned over that past three years, and he has such a good ear, and helps create progress in the mixes. Besides being an amazing musician who can play anything with a truly gifted ear for recording and producing, Ned has the most important quality a collaborator can have: he’s thoughtful! Ned has helped me record and release a bunch of music and not only does he always make it sound great, he puts so much thought into making it an artistic statement. He’s just as comfortable mixing a song as he is adding the perfect guitar part - he thinks about music in a very complete way, taking overall context of a project into account just as much as a tambourine level. Ned has fully recorded, mixed, and mastered 2 full eps for me and I could not be more happy with the end results. Ned brought an impressive wealth of knowledge to my projects and made my songs sound as good as they possibly could. His knowledge of gear, tones, microphone placement, and proper recording, mixing, and mastering processes is quite extensive and he makes it all look so easy.
