Endorse OnBoat StudioWorking with Luis has been a great experience. He is both a solid professional and a passionate artist, plus he's strongly committed to deliver the best results possible. It really helps that he's patient, easygoing, and open to explain and discuss whatever he is doing. The mix we worked on sounds 200% better now! I highly recommend Onboat!
Very professional, always giving that extra care for the clients. But what I found most important is the easygoing way for working as a team!
Great Job Onboat!Great job from OnBoat. They helped me with my new album, wich ended up better than I expected. They work fast and efficiently. Totally worth the price. 10/10 !!
We chose OnBoat Studio a long time ago and they've never disappoint us. Luis have always been there to listen our requests and addapt anythong if necessary, always with very humble manners. The results were as good as they could be even though some times we took him really shitty recordings, but somehow he managed to save them, no matter if it was acoustic, electric, studio or even live sessions.
I tottaly recomend this guys and plan to work with them in the future.
If you never try... you'll never know.Where do I begin!?
OnBoat returns one hell of a mix at the cheapest rates I’ve ever seen. ‘Professionals’ are charging x3 the retail and delivering no where near what I got from this studio. Clearly I’ve signed over for all previous and future releases.
The best part is, nothing is ever good enough for OnBoat. The studio is constantly progressing, even after delivering hard to top results, you can bet your a** they over deliver one mix after the next.
OnBoat Studio is the definition of underrated.Contraté a Onboatstudio para toda la parte de audio de un cortometraje quebestoy produciendo y realmente quedó impecable! Luis muy simpático y puntual con las fechas de entrega!
Interview with OnBoat Studio
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I´m producing a band (I do the mixes and add arrengements to give melodic nuances), also developing a youtube channel about interviews to people that live in boats. Mixing several songs from different bands for albums and singles.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, as the name of my studio says it, I live on a boat and my idea is to travel around the world. I can´t do it with a bunch of analog gear in my lugagge hahaha. Also I don´t care what gear you use, I care about the result you give with it.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise a good product, I´m interested in them to come back and creat a long term relationship where they can trust their work to me and they can be confident that the deliver is going to be the one they like.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love music and I like playing with it. I can spend hours mixing. I love it, I don´t know if my wife love it that much hahahahaha
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That your work have to be liked by everyone. No music ever is liked by everyone in this planet.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: To listen to previous works from the producer or ask for a sample. It doesn´t matter what title they got or how much career they got on their back. What really matter are the RESULTS. Nothing else is important. Also music is reaaaally subjective so it doesn´t matter who is the producer, what matter is if you like it or not.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop, my headsets, my audio interface, my midi keyboard, and my guitar.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: The key is in the compression, Don´t overcompress but a mix without compression just doesn´t give it´s full potential
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, Punk, Hard Rock, Electronic, Folk, Stoner
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I know how to make drums sound big and powerful, that allows me to take the mix to the front wich makes the listener not loose any detail
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring life to a song, It might be by mixing the sounds that are already there or adding something that can call the attention of the listener. Also I take the song to it´s higher potential by taking it to the higher volume possible without losing the clarity and quality.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start by listening the stems without any process, I mix just with volume and panning and identify what is the instrument or group of instruments that have the soul of the song. Then I start generally by mixig the drums and once I like the sound of it I start mixing that "soul". Once I got those two elements the way I like them I start decorating with the other instruments that remain.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most commonly I do Mixes & Masters and occasionally a client ask me for some arrengement that can make their song sound more alive by giving them a melodic journey. My quest is to highlight the feeling of the song and make every other instrument decorate it.

Generally I´m confident about the job I can do, so I don´t have limited revisions, but I will tell you when theres nothing else to do.
