From classic Midwestern melodies to 80s hair metal shredding, I do it all. I love writing unique chord progressions, hook melodies, and guitar solos. I never let ego take the lead, and always put taste above all. I've played on lineups with acts as popular as Lee Brice, Thank You Scientist, and Korn.
I'm a humble guitarist with a passion for writing music and working with others. I can play any style of music, and look forward to challenges. I can write your main riff, background guitar harmonies, guitar solos, as long as it's guitar, I can give it to you. I've spent many years working with various Michigan bands and making strong connections with all of them, and I hope to do the same with you.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with Jakub Ryan
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A couple albums with different bands
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Esjay Jones. GREAT producer!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, it's easier to achieve consistent recordings
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What vibe are you going for? Do you want something specifically shreddy?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Gretsch G5260T Electromatic Jet Baritone, Roland JC120, Abasi Pathos, TC Electronic Plethora X5, and a Strandberg Boden
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Elegant, yet laid back and groovy
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: To make a section really pop, eq out all the low frequencies from the drums and bass and cut out all instruments but the main line, a simple bass line, and a simple drum beat. Then bring it all back, but heavier, in the next bar and add two more elements to the track.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Heavy rock, lofi hip hop, and any mix between the two
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Adding on top of, or underneath, what's already there to fill out space and add harmonic content
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Tasty guitar melodies, and vibe
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Slipknot, American Football, Whitechapel, Royal & The Serpant, K.Flay, Remo Drive, Whitechapel, Steve Vai, La Dispute, Crumb, Avenged Sevenfold, Deftones, Paul Thorn, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Jim Croce
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
