I am a singer and guitarist myself, so I naturally set my focus and expertise there but of course with the entire mix in perspective.

Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The diversity in the different songs coming your way.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That plugins is key.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My Macbook, my headphones, my guitar, my interface and microphone
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Keep a referencetrack to keep your track in line with the best. It's not for fun everybody mentions it. If you have been mixing for a long time without a referencetrack and then come back to it to reference, you will see how far you have "drifted" and can then redirect. So: Referencetacks
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on singer/songwriter kind of songs. So acoustics and vocal strong songs.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: As a guitarist, singer and songwriter, I would say my strongest skill would be the relationship between the guitars and vocals in check with each other and the rest of the mix.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring focus, clarity and punch.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: – First I ask for 2-3 referencetracks from you (so you might as well find some already) which suit your song well sounddesign and mix-wise – I then start out with a 20 minute mix, which only is the static mix and panning. – Then I mix in mono! And move on to EQ'ing and compressing to make sure all roles, taking part in the song, sit right in the mix. – Switching back and forth from mono to stereo I apply reverb and delay, for the shaping of the room which suits the song according to your refrencetracks – Then I reference your track to the refrencetracks you have given me
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use Logic on my Macbook Pro, my Focusrite 2i2 interface and its headphones that follows. And of course I use my bad speakers to see what they do to the song, to see what tendency the song has on bad speakers.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Guys like Sam Fender and Harry Styles inspire me the most. The way they just walk into a studio and play around songwriting wise. Of course musicians around me always inspire me.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually do mixing and mastering. And sometimes help out with songwriting if the song needs better dynamics or something like that.
