Interview with Davis Street Studio
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love everything and pull from everything. 1950's Latin Jazz to Bedroom Shoegaze. Music Showcases on Youtube like Colors, La Blogothéque, and Tiny Desk. 1920's New Orleans Jazz "Victoria Spivey" to modern French Disco House "L'Impératrice". I can merry familiar old sounds with new.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: "I Just Want To Believe In Love Again" - the newest EP from Astro James. Produced, Mixed, and Mastered by Jesus Davis at Davis Street Studio. Really proud of this work and what it represents as an homage to Dallas music history and the future of blues music.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Technical expertise is foundational, but crafting the right sound from a song that everyone can vibe to is the most important artistic value I can bring to my clients
