Interview with Ghost

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My new single coming out on March 5th is something I'm very proud of, and I was the creator of it.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Personal Album, a book, a handful of singles to start sending off to radio stations and getting major placements with some well-known music artists.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I'm fresh as a provider and looking forward to meeting new people.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both, I have a control surface of my own that's analog, but to keep my desk spacey, I rarely use it and digital to be able to explore the different creations the industry has to offer.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I'll always give 120% when I work on a project.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Creating! Meeting new people, forming new relationships, meeting new cultures, finding new talent

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: What do you do exactly? My answer is, "I'm a jack of all trades, which means I wear more than one hat."

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That I try to do too many things at once, lol

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What is your goal with the project? What can I do to make sure I produce what you need? What other information can you provide so I can be sure to handle your project with care and with all my abilities possible?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Don't judge a book by its cover or by its inner weaknesses when found. If I haven't been able to work with big artists yet it doesn't mean my personal goals as a producer aren't to get there. I will turn you away if I can't meet you halfway on your goals or if I don't think we are the right fit for your project, honest truth.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: The most robust rope in the world, knife, bow, and arrows, and a sleeping bag

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: General labor was my career path, and I've been actively practicing writing music for the past 13-14 years, I've been making music for roughly 7-10 serious years.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Relaxed, Activist, Conscious, sometimes hyped up, Sharp, Transparent, and Giving.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: NF because he's a Genius and J Cole because he has the Prophetic gift and he's like an activist to me, and of course to pick both of their minds. If I could get in the room with Kendrick it would be because of his outgoingness and vision when it comes to music and to hear the wisdom all of them have acquired in life.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: When you get into the "Flow state of Mind" don't let anybody bother you unless of course, something significant comes up, that's common sense. But you as a creative and creator got to have all the free time and space to put that Flow to great use.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Hip Hop, Rap, RnB, Some Rock Style, Conscious

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Storytelling with Analogies.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Multi's, Metaphors, Similies/Analogies, Punchlines, Wordplay, Creativity, Consciousness, Inspiration, New perspectives, and insight.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3, and Phase 4 Songwriting, Recording, Mixing, and Mastering. If I need the beat first, then it's Beakmaking, then Songwriting, and so on.
