Brian Merrill on SoundBetter

As a mixer, my goal is to bring the artists vision of their music to life.

Brian Merrill – Mix Engineer | Merrill Studios

Brian Merrill is a veteran mix engineer with deep analog roots and a modern digital workflow, operating out of Merrill Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida. His motto—“Digital Heart, Analog Soul”—captures the essence of his work: warm, emotionally resonant mixes delivered with surgical clarity and pro-level polish.
A Pro Tools HD2 setup anchors Brian’s hybrid workflow, complemented by Apogee and Crane Song conversion, UAD and Waves plugins, and an arsenal of analog outboard gear. When the mix calls for depth and color, he turns to his Shadow Hills Equinox summing mixer, Urei 1178, DBX 160, Distressor, and Little Dipper EQ for the kind of tone you can't fake.

Recent credits include mixing and mastering six tracks for the 10th anniversary of Sharknado, a Dolby Atmos mix for the feature film I Feel Fine, and music featured on ESPN’s XGames, Disney Channel, and the Tokyo Broadcasting System. Whether it’s rock, indie, pop, punk, or hip hop, Brian brings decades of studio experience and musician insight to every project.
