I'm Aaron Ridge, an R&B/Soul artist hailing from Toronto, Canada. I come to Soundbetter with about 15 years of experience in songwriting, production, mixing & mastering. I specialize in soul, and I'm passionate about making sure I bring the soul out with every project I work on. For a long time, that was exclusively my own music, but in recent years, I've met other artists who I've been able to help bring their various visions to life. So, that's what I'm here to do!

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a home studio for songwriting & production, and a separate studio for mixing & mastering. Home studio has my Zen GO, my Korg Krome, my guitars, and my Mojave MA-20fet. Great gear that helps me get creative. The mixing space has an Apollo x4, two Adam Audio A8Hs, and a TLM 103. Industry quality equipment to get great results.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: As far as producers go, D Mile, Darkchild, and Timbaland are at the top of my list. For songwriting, I'm a huge fan of Ne-Yo, Stevie Wonder, Victoria Monet, and Maxx Martin, to name a few. Vocally, I've been compared to John Legend a few times, and if I can just keep that as the bar, I think I'll be just fine.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: A lot of what I do is production and mixing, specifically for artists who want more of a soulful feel to their music. Live instrumentation, big vocal stacks, subtle pitch-correction on vocals so as to avoid that robotic sound.
