Interview with JokBeatz

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I´m working on a new album with top rated italian rappers.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: I like a combination of the two things. Analog it´s simply like really feeling your music. But digital it´s less problematic

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: The next headbanger.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: Creativity

  9. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  10. A: You need to be sure of what you want.

  11. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  12. A: Something to generate electricity..i mean....it´s a desert island right? My Mac, the MpkMini2 and my speakers.

  13. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  14. A: I started at the age of 16, just copying beats or using softwares like "Ejay". At 18 i released my first self produced Album. And at 25 i was working for Universal Music Italy.

  15. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  16. A: Maybe RA the Rugged Man, Necro, Alisha Keys.. and..Why not?

  17. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  18. A: Do not waste one hour searching for the perfect Kick instead of finishing the song. It´s never too late to change a sound, but the inspiration can disappear. It´s easy to get bored.

  19. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  20. A: Hip Hop and Pop music are my choices.

  21. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  22. A: One word. Energy

  23. Q: What's your typical work process?

  24. A: I usually start with the drums or with a sample (if required). But a song is not a real song without bass right? After this i start adding keys and synths till the magic happens. When all is done it´s time to make some adjstment, create movement, or add new patterns.

  25. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  26. A: I have a pair of Adam T5V, A Behringer UMC404, And i use Logic Pro X in combination with Komplete 13.

  27. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  28. A: I think my inspiration come straight from producers of the top songs of the 2000's, like Scott Storch and Timbaland.

  29. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  30. A: I will Compose beats, based on the mood described by the client, send it after i`m sure it´s a good quality product and then review it with customer for further improvements.
