Interview with Jerald Daemyon
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: 1. Come with a vision, not a finished script. I thrive when I can interpret your emotional intent and expand it. Share the feeling, story, or reference—not just technical notes. 2. Trust my improvisational instincts. My greatest strength is creating parts that don’t sound “added,” but essential. Allow space for spontaneous ideas—they often become the defining moment of the track. 3. Communicate the role of strings early. Whether you want subtle texture, a bold lead, or cinematic depth, clarity up front helps shape the arrangement efficiently. 4. Be open to elevation, not just execution. I don't simply play or produce—I enhance. Expect suggestions that raise the musical and emotional impact of your project. 5. Treat it as a creative partnership. The strongest results come when clients engage collaboratively. I work closely and personally to ensure the final result serves both the song and your artistic vision. In short: bring the heart of the idea, trust the process, and let the music rise.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: An Urban Latin orchestral work for violin, my contemporary jazz piano project and producing and mixing an Afrobeat project for a client.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise work that carries mood, meaning, and presence. Art that stands on its own long after trends fade. What I deliver will always be something I’m proud to sign my name to.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The biggest misconception about what I do is that I “just add violin.” In reality, I consider myself a musical architect. My work goes far beyond playing strings—I shape the emotional direction of a song through arrangement, improvisation, production insight, and composition. The violin isn’t decoration; it’s a narrative voice that defines mood, groove, and identity. What clients often discover is that I don't simply enhance a track—I transform it.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Are you ready to elevate your project, distinguish your sound and bring your vision to life?
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is genre-fluid, expressive, and intentional. On violin, I blends precise technique with fearless improvisation, shaping melodies that feel both spontaneous and deeply emotional. As a producer, I focuses on groove, clarity, and atmosphere—crafting tracks that are polished yet soulful. Many of my compositions are cinematic and story-driven, designed to enhance feeling, elevate the message, and give each song a distinct identity.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Listen to all types of music even the ones that you don't like.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: All genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is transformative improvisation—the ability to instinctively create parts that elevate a track’s mood, groove, and identity while serving the song’s core vision.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring emotional clarity, dynamic energy, and a distinctive violin voice to every song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My typical work process usually includes conceptual development, iterative refinement, and a final deliverable that feels cohesive, deliberate, and distinctive.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work in a digital and analog hybrid setting that provides professional music production and recording services to clients in all genres.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I most often works with clients producing music and composing string arrangements for concept-driven creative projects that require a strong point of view and a refined execution. These projects typically involve developing a visual or artistic direction from the ground up—shaping mood, tone, and narrative before moving into final production. Clients come to me for work that is intentional, atmospheric, and authored, rather than templated or trend-based.
