Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I write toplines, i write lyrics and i produce. Sometimes i mix/master. Usually, my clients ask me to write and produce new songs for them from scratch.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: There are many projects...Let’s say i am proud of the last single of Dan Balan- Numa Numa 2. The original song (Dragostea din tei) was a famous song in 2000’s all over the world. He wanted to remake the track , originally written by him, and to add new parts on it. It is always a very hard mission to make a new production for a already famous track. I did the production, i recorded the vocals, i did the backing vocals, i wrote the topline of the verses, and did a premix.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I just signed some artists to my small independent label and i write/produce music for them. I also write/produce music for different artists from all over the world.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: It depends...It’s a long story.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Every client is unique. I promise i will try to undestand exactly what are you searching for and to meet your expectations.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I never felt that doing music is a real job. That’s what i love.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: 1.When the song will be ready? When we will be happy with it! 2.My song will be played on the radio? I will do my best but unfortunately to be at the radio stations needs a complex process and the quality of my work is just a part of this process.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be clear on your request. Send as many song references as you can.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My bacbook pro, a midi controller, a mouse , the u67 and the UA Apollo.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I Wrote my first top 5 song at only 15 years in ‘99. I started as a singer and writer and after 2003 i worked only as a producer&writer. I wrote&produce more then 350-400 songs. More them 40 of my songs were top 10 in east of Europe.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Maybe Max Martin. His experience , versatility, and his power to be a top producer for more then 25 years is fascinating me.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Sometimes less is more
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, house, edm , techno, deephouse, raggaeton,
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Versatility
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My work ussualy adds that touch that can make the track more radio friendly and more catchy. In the production process i allways look for that kind of sounds that give a lot of personality to the track.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I can adapt to different types of work. Sometimes i work in writing sessions, sometimes i write and produce by myself from 0, sometimes i produce songs writen by other artists
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I feel inspired by fresh good music but if i need to pick a name the i would pick Max Martin’s work. Also Serban Ghenea for mixing.
