Introducing Dream Club - a sonic visionary and purveyor of ethereal melodies hailing from the stunning Bay Area, San Francisco. At the tender age of 24, he has already made waves in the music industry, carving out a unique niche with his pop-infused soundscape.

Dream Club's music is a tapestry of sounds, woven with dreamy synths that transport the listener to a world of sonic bliss. His alternative stylings, reminiscent of the beloved indie rock groups The Strokes and The 1975, showcase his versatility and depth as an artist. And with a nod to the futuristic pop icon Charli XCX, Dream Club takes his audience on a journey through time, his sound both nostalgic and innovative.

As an assistant and songwriter/producer at The Panda Studios of Fremont, California, I have the knowledge and experience to take your ideas to the next level at a professional pace.

Interview with Dream Club

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I am currently producing and mixing songs for a band by the name of Vampire Mansion, as well as producing pop songs for a female artist by the name of Lulu La. Both are wonderful artists! Go check them out.

  3. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  4. A: Warm Audio microphone, some NS10s, My guitar, A laptop, and to make it easy, an Apollo interface.

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: I have been producing beats and songs for almost 5 years now. Since 16 I dreamt of being in a band and making music, and slowly but surely I've been making that a reality. Albeit, I am a solo project now! I would say I'm proud of the amount of work I've been able to accomplish over the years with the opportunities I've been granted and I am not showing any signs of slowing down.

  7. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  8. A: I would love to work with Matty Healy of The 1975. That would be a dream come true.

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: If a sound or track needs too many plug-ins, maybe the original sound just wasn't good enough! Most of the time, less is better. Try and mess with a stock preset and really learn all of the knobs and buttons on that VST interface, you'll be amazed at how much you can accomplish in shaping the synth or sound you want before you need to place any plugins on it.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: I work on alternative, alt-pop, hyper-pop, and indie music. I also love bending boundaries by taking elements of other genres and sprinkling them into my pop productions. For example, maybe a reggaeton drum beat over a synth melody.

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: The ability to really dive into a song and find the proper meaning/feeling to portray to an audience. I love to write simple yet compelling lyrics that are easy to listen to, and that sit on top of very deep and layered production.

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: I bring a fun and contemporary sound to my production. I take inspiration from hyper-pop and modern pop production, so I can really hit that niche but still sound radio ready. It sounds "indie" enough while holding a commercial standard.

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: I typically like to create songs from scratch, but I also love to bring clients' demos to life. I can handle whatever you need! I like to start with my template and organize a session whether it's through importing tracks or starting fresh. From there, as a producer, I just start on whatever feels natural whether it be keys, drums, etc.

  19. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  20. A: In all honestly, I run a very budget setup. My priciest equipment is some Dynaudio studio monitors + JBL monitors, running into a Mackey Big Knob. I also work entirely in the box. However, I can assure you this does not restrict me from bringing any song to life, and you won't be able to tell the difference in my production otherwise! I also work at a professional studio with plenty of hardware, so I understand the workflow and differences.

  21. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  22. A: I am heavily inspired by artists such as The 1975, Charli XCX, A.G. Cook, and No Rome. Producers I take note from include softbodyheartthrob, George Daniel, and Mike Crossey.

  23. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  24. A: I write songs, write lyrics, and produce music! I also mix songs for clients.

  25. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  26. A: David Kyle Payne. Fantastic producer and musician.

  27. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  28. A: Analog is fantastic and I always throw a Juno or DX7 on my production at the studio, however now that I have samples to all of the synths I use, I just do everything digital.

  29. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  30. A: I will do my best to fulfill your requests and make a song that will please not only you but your audience.

  31. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  32. A: Make sure the provider you're going for is YOUR sound or is capable of tailoring a song to your sound. At the end of the day, it should sound like your song, not like every other song the provider you're reaching out to has made.

  33. Q: How would you describe your style?

  34. A: It's difficult to describe but I like to think I am a nostalgia-heavy contemporary pop artist with melancholic instrumentals. My entire musical aesthetic stems from dreams, if you couldn't tell by my artist name!
