Offering budget conscious production, vocal production, composition and mixing for those looking for a step up in quality! Assistant to Warner Chapel producer Joe Kearns (Ellie Goulding, Little Mix) and assistant to mix engineer and British Grove manager Jason Elliott. In House producer for Grace Grundy (200m Spotify plays and 130K Youtube subs).
I'm an approachable and personable producer looking to get as much experience as possible, especially with those on a tight budget. I am the senior engineer at a high end studio in the UK, with credits across a number of genres.
I can compose and create to your brief with a flexible but creative approach - start productions from scratch, help finish and arrange projects already started, and provide mixes/masters.
I would love to assist those who need low cost but professional, stylistic and quality service. My main style of production covers organic, ambient/atmospheric and soft pop, which can branch over to indie pop, hip-hop and as far as heavy rock - but I'll happily consider anything for the experience.
I specialise in live drum production and vocal arrangement, and can draft in many other session musicians, including vocalists, guitarists and keys players.
I come from 12 years of drum teaching, with a 1st class degree in Popular Music. I'm happy to consider anything to extend my experience and learning opportunities - just drop me a line.

Simon was an absolute dream to work with and someone I will definitely work with again. I gave him an insane challenge of producing 5 tracks in a very short amount of time, and not only was he on board, but he put so much care and effort into each track and they sound amazing. He is very open to collaboration and loves receiving notes and also puts his own voice into the music as well. I was so lucky to find Simon and I'm so grateful for all he's done!

Interview with Simon Cripps
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To go above and beyond to make sure they are happy with the final product - I appreciate their trust getting me involved in their art.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Take your time choosing providers - this is your craft you are opening up, which is a very personal process.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been teaching for 12 years, and working in production for the last 2.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Organic, versatile and evolving!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd love to work with Death Cab For Cutie - I love the sounds of all their records over the years.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I like the think I bring depth and an organic vibe (unless not wanted), and a musical ear in regards overall impact and emotion.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listen to clients and reference their ideas a lot! From finding sounds to mixing, my process is always open and sympathetic to their vibe and needs. I love to get a song mapped out in its bare form first, then build from there. This is when I spend time fine tuning sounds and instruments, but not at the expense of creative flow - especially when working with someone else.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have small home studio I have built and acoustically treated, with means of recording all instruments. I have a selection of guitars, Kemper profiler, some outboard Focusrite ISA pres, running through a UAD Apollo. Mics include Shure SM7b, Aston Microphones and Rode. I monitor through Neumann KH120 with Sonarworks correction. I have plants, lamps and prints on the wall. I love hanging out in here!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Production and ghost production, composing and arrangements. A drummer at the core - although play multiple instruments for composition. I love working on ambient and atmospheric works, and heavy rock too.
