Stacey’s incredibly versatile voice along with her tone and pitch makes her a weapon! She is easily able to harmonize with herself and take on a variety of characters and sing in numerous styles . She’s completely professional and incredibly fast. I loved working with her and will continue to do so. I Highly highly recommend working with her!
I've had the pleasure of working with Stacey numerous times over the years. She will absolutely bring life to your project. The first time we connected was on a project that was super fast turnaround. She would show up, knock it out of the park, tweak melody and add lush, stacked harmonies - effortlessly.
We've worked together on album projects, jingle work and more. In addition to an amazing voice, she will absolutely make your project pop!
Interview with Stacey Allyn
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I wrote a song for a movie that needed to be powerful, driven, and particular to that storyline. Believe it or not the idea/inspiration came from an office note pad heading that said "While you were out". That phrase did not become the song title, but it lead every chorus and it turned out the song was chosen to close the film!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Recording for Sync and creating relationships for collaboration.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Kris Bradley (Boom Fox Productions). She has an amazing voice and is very experienced and professional.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital- it delivers excellent/professional quality as well as the conveniece of creating a home studio.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is that I will put my best effort toward the end goal. I will give 100%!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I get to sing and create as well as collaborate/connect with my clients with a goal of an excellent outcome!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Common questions are how long do you need to complete the project or can you keep me updated on progress.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I think misconceptions come from society norms more than anything. Quickly judging someone based on their outer apperance or gender, or even how they handle one circumstance or answer one question. In highschool I was perceived as an airhead. Well maybe that was the artist in me!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What vocal sound/style are you looking for? What are your goals for this project? What type of songs would you use to compare to what sound/melody/lyrics you are looking for? What is your overall theme? Do you have a song title? Do you have lyrics written already?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Have clear written requests/instructions/examples so we are all on the same page/goal!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My Breedlove accoustic guitar, laptop, logic pro, recording mic, Sony mixing headphones (does a Tesla solar powered electrical/charging tower count?) Gotta have power!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been singing and writing songs since I was a child and profesionally for over fifteen years. My journey began in live performance which led me to NYC, and then moved into studio work where I was hired both as a singer and songwriter.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Versatile, clever, fun, present, heartfelt
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Sarah Bareilles because she has so much heart and versatily in her writing. I was not surprised when she wrote a broadway musical (which I love by the way!).
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Build with thoughtful EQ in mind so that tracks don't outdo each other.

A: Authenticity, Creativity, Warmth, Power, Presence
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I begin by acessing the requests of the project at hand- I make sure I am clear on all requests/goals and I start mapping out what is needed. I also periodically check in with client to make sure we are going in the right direction.
