I would recommend Dave as a mix engineer and musician. He brings a great level of sophistication to projects.

Should be 6 stars. My only regret is not having found Dave sooner. His approach to the project was fantastic throughout. Where others rush to deliver an order with by "painting by numbers", it was refreshing to see Dave applying creativity and taking pride in his performance.

I have worked with Brophy in one form or another on my music for the last 10 years. He has always put the song first and helped me navigate the creative process in so many ways. An amazing drummer and producer who always puts the feeling of the song first. Always a chill vibe and ready to make it happen, you won't be sad you worked with Dave.

I am so grateful I found Dave. He truly came alongside me as a producer, mixing engineer, and mastering engineer, throughout a major project to release 12 songs - one for each month in 2020. We did it! He is a visionary who works with heart, dedication, and professionalism. Extremely committed and talented - with results that move the listener deep down in the soul. I can't tell you how many times I've had to text him back in all CAPS because of how amazed I was by a mix or even a draft. He's also simply great to work with. A true gift. I highly, highly recommend!

Dave produced my first full-length album, and taught me a lot about making records. I'd come into the project pretty green and anxious, with a batch of songs I really cared about. Dave met me and the band where we were, and carefully shepherded the decision-making throughout recording. He shines especially when producing vocals, always bringing sparks of excitement and creativity with doubling or harmonies in just the right spots. But with Dave, you also get a strong of rhythm and arranging honed through years of gigging. No ego, no tone-chasing or vibe-killing side quests, it's ALL good!

I had never worked with a real producer before in a studio. Working with Dave was a game changer. The joy, excitement, energy, creativity, and just overall fun of recording my music was taken to a new level. And that’s what Dave brings. It was an incredible experience. If you have some tunes kicking around and you want to elevate your music, Dave is your guy.

Dave Brophy produced many songs for me. I could talk all day about his skills as a drummer. I could go on forever on great sounds he gets, but what Dave does best is he gives a song personality. He gives a song a beating heart. He pushes you into believing in your song, especially if he senses doubt or apprehension. He turns ambiguity into energy and excitement! Dave is also a perfect choice for new perspectives on a song. Many times I’d come in with an idea and Dave would suggest new directions; key change, rhythm, tempo, or style. The results are unreal. Truly incredible!

I’ve worked with Dave now on three projects and I cannot recommend him enough! Along with being an incredibly talented musician, he’s patient, great at communicating, and organized. He knows how to help musicians get great performances in the studio and he is also incredible at mixing! He makes everyone comfortable around him and will create a relaxed yet productive vibe for your session. Stop your search now and hit Dave up, you will not regret it! He’s the best around.

I worked with Dave over the course of 2020 to bring a 1970's singer-songwriter inspired EP to life. His background as a drummer was important to me to get the sounds I was looking for. He's extremely easy to work with (and fun!) and has deep knowledge of many genres. I'll definitely work with him again and highly recommend him.

I made my last full length album with Dave. From start to finish the entire project was absolute joy. Dave is a consummate professional and a true producer, which are hard to find these days. Dave produced, co-wrote, engineered, mixed, mastered and project managed the entire album. He brought in incredible players, he set the environment in the studio, he is intuitive and technical - the best of both worlds. As a drummer he is the best of the best. His mixing skills serve the song and bring out the best in the singer and the instrumentation. I cannot say enough about Dave. Hire him.

I've worked with Dave as a performer and songwriter for over 25 years and as a producer for the past five. His talents as an artist make him a producer that is easy to communicate ideas with and who is sensitive to the emotional attachments artists have to their work. He's brought ideas to the table that have been instrumental (no pun intended) to crafting my sound.

Dave worked on six songs for me in 2020: produced, drummed, sang, played piano, guitar and percussion… the whole shebang! He has a keen overall sense of what a recording needs, whether it’s classic Country/Americana or modern Pop/Rock. Great producer, great guy!

I chose to work with Dave because I knew that in addition to his production skills, he was a top notch drummer and had a real understanding of pop and country songwriting. Dave was easy to work with and always interested in pursuing my artistic vision, while lending his input when he knew it would elevate the song. Would happily work with Dave again.

I made all my records with Dave Brophy. He is a producer in the truest sense of the word because he can manage everything from communications, to arrangement, to emotionally setting a tone in a room. Not only do I confidentially think he could help anyone make the music they are dreaming of, he also makes sure the process is enjoyable.

I've made 1 album and 2 singles with Dave over the last 3 years and i can hands down say it has been the most enjoyable experience I've ever had in the studio. Dave is very easy-going but also has clear vision on how to make a project shine. He made room for me to bring out my sound and then made it better. His background as a percussionist really enhances the studio process. Highly reccomend!
