Interview with Krzysztof Biarda
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The fact that I can be fully creative in every project.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Everything started when I was a kid. I started playing piano when I was 7, then after 6 years I switched to a electric guitar and a few years later I learned to play bass guitar. In the meantime I became interested in music production and mixing music. Now I widen my knowledge, and I started working as a sound designer, sound engineer in post-production and also as a music composer.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Radiohead, Alice in Chains, Jonny Greenwood because they are my favourite artists
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Try to mix as fast as possible because time is your enemy. If you mix too long, you loose perspective, impartiality/objectivity and that will make your mixes sound worse than before. Relax and get plenty of sleep
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, alternative
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Sound designing, mixing, playing guitar (electric, acoustic, bass)
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I talk with a client about his project and I try to get as many details about it as possible. Then I get the files and I start listening to every track. I edit, mix them together using eqs, compressors, reverbs etc, everything that can help me to achieve the best quality possible. If we are talking about films, audio-video materials, I add my own sounds which are recorded by me (foley recordings). If we are talking about music, my goal is to send the best mix to a client.
