My goal is to help producers to realize their vision and exceed their prime expectations. I am a great communicator and speak the language of music and audio production which allows me to efficiently work comprehensively with directors and producers. I have an excellent ear for harmony and vocal arrangements as well as add-libs and hear dual and tri-pitches at once and how they can work simultaneously in a song with instruments or voice, so essentially I can work as an executive producer and arranger as well if applicable. My timing is also excellent I was a working DJ for 10 years in NY and LA. I studied Opera in Italy and then moved back to NY and got my Degree in Musical Theater, ultimately moved to LA to study studio production.
Very much looking forward to working with you thank you for reading.

Endorse Maria DiCara 'Queen Chameleon'Maria is not just a Queen, she is a true vocal Goddess! We have worked on multiple projects together and she always delivers incredible vocals. Her approach is very creative and diverse. She can deliver vocals with different tones and styles and they all sound great. She is very creative with adlibs, I don't know anybody who would come up with as many ideas as she does. She can also sing in multiple genres and languages, which is very rare. Our releases always get a lot of streams on Spotify, and we have signed multiple songs with top sync agents for sync representation in the United States.
Interview with Maria DiCara 'Queen Chameleon'
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: It was great working on Dragon Ball Z with JD Aguilar, his team was incredible, he has worked for Disney on Moana and Cocoa, Mary Poppins, I felt very fortunate to work with him, learn from him, and receive a testimonial following our project. We are lifelong friends now
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Oh goodness i've got a list of about 15 people I am supposed to collaborate with worldwide, People Are People a charity project on risingvoices.net which is a raises money donated to the NAACP and other foundations promoting social equality and justice. I was fortunate to be a featured singer on this. I have a new Educational YouTube Series I started called 'Chameleon Cuts' where I am interviewing creators & business entrepreneurs of all types in the entertainment industry, to raise awareness and spread enrichment throughout the artist community. I am making 2 Topline Sample Packs for this month for sounds.com I am working on a K-pop and Italian tri-lingual song. I am taking a business course and researching into desigining a vocal coaching course online.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes Chris Wirsig is a phenomenal composer, def recommend him.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Ahhhh hahaha listen, it depends on the genre, if we are doing singer songwriter and want a more folky tome, lets go Analog, if we are doing a polished Ariana Grande record with all the bells and whistles that begs for that radio clean and super shiny overtone, lets go with digital. I can work either way I will give you a great source to begin with that will not require much polish.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That they will be beyond pleased with my work, organization, and communication.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Making new friendships and earning the trust of a new human, I live for connection.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you sing some add-libs and add harmonies? Response is absolutely.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That all singers have ego's and attitudes, its a bad stigma because I am the opposite of that and have always respected and treated my peers well with equality and kindness.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you hear a vocal style already in your head for this, if so who? Is there a brief I should be cognizant of? What is your timeline? What is your budget?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Believe that I am going to do a beyond incredible job and you finally found a singer that you can really communicate with well who can musically do whatever you ask of her.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Speakers, Pioneer DDJ SB Controller(cause I have to DJ music for myself), Headphones (if I want to go deep in semantics & sound bathing) Mic, Trusty thick XLR
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been singing since age 3, I began in church choir sang there for 15 yrs, always did singing competitions and shows and drama club in school and chorale, I was nominated to conduct our select choir of 50 students, and I did and we were 8 voice parts and an accapella group, we kicked ass and performed on many occasions for the school, it was a great honor and fulfilling experience to direct and conduct. I moved to Italy after high school on my own dime, I found a school I wanted to study opera in and through my father I had my citizenship there as well so it was much more affordable than studying in the states and mainly, I wanted to study opera where it was born, in Florence. I came back to NY after a year and got my degree in Musical theater with Honors and a 4.0 GPA, worked with many Broadway MDs, was trained by Broadway Singers, did work in Film and tv and commerical, did extra work. Started a successful DJ company with my best friend. I got in a crazy tragic accident and did not know if I would ever sing again... I physically was able to recover after a year and received a small settlement that allowed me to move to LA to study Audio Production like I always wanted, so that I could specifically become a better communicator in the studio and producer at home. Now I am here in LA and have been blessed to work with Grammy Award Winning Producers and Emmy Winning Songwriters, having a partnership with Native Instruments has been incredible for me to express myself creatively through my vocal samples. And the journey continues...
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: International classy, hints of urban
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Timbaland, Will.I.Am, we would simply make fire in the studio like Van Halen. Also Hans Zimmer, we would absolutely create a masterpiece together.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Yes, as a Music Producer please be a great communicator and be specific when you tell me what you want, I will understand and give you exactly what you ask I am a smart singer who vocally is almost limitless and has a wide range.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, Rap, EDM, or Epic Style such as Scandinavian Vocals, Ethereal Cinematic Vocals in other languages, I have sung in 16 languages in my career.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I've been told that I am a great communicator who is fun to work with and always over exceeds expectations.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Energy, a fresh set of ears, interpretive style, honest present emotion, technique, solid pitch & timing.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Typically, I will receive a Vocal Demo from a Producer in their voice, which gives me exactly what I need to know about the melody they envision. Then I will receive lyrics and they will give me a reference to the artist they hear it sounding similar to, and we will go from there. Other times we go from scratch, and I am entrusted to compose melodies and lyrics. It just depends what the producer needs.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use my trusty Audio Technica 4033a which is perfect for me because it is a microphone which translates everything I do on the mic, to exactly that when I play it back, it is a no-nonsense zero manipulation mic. My console op teacher Adam Kagan recommended it, saying that he uses it on his kick drum and hes had his for 19 yrs and it still works just as good. That was a great metaphor for me to how powerful my voice can be and also how soft and angelic. Perfect for all the chamelic work that I do. Then I am good to go with my Twin Apollo or my Scarlet box and Logic is my best friend.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Max Martin, Timbaland, Will.I.Am, Pharrell, I love David Foster, Hans Zimmer is my dream collaboration, Danny Elfman, Howard Shore, Diplo is wonderful, I love Zedd, Red One, David Guetta, Martin Garrix those guys, but also lots of Underground producers like Yellow Claw, Ludwig Van Goransson & so many more.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Being featured on Songs produced by other artists, or recording demos and then shopping them to other major artists, also ghost writing.
