Tight & tasteful guitarist

Ivan Castro on SoundBetter

Solid guitarist with 7 years on cruise ships and a lifetime of soul, funk, rock, Latin and pop. I deliver groove, precision and pro-level tone on every track. Versatile, reliable, and detail-oriented — I bring the sound, feel and professionalism your project needs.

I put passion, love, and complete dedication into every project I work on. My goal is always the same: to deliver guitar parts with the perfect tone, the right feel, and the emotion your music deserves. After years of playing live and recording with many artists, both on stage and in the studio, I’ve learned to adapt quickly while staying true to what matters most—serving the song.
I’m a solid, detail-oriented guitarist who enjoys exploring ideas and collaborating closely. Whether you have a clear vision or just a starting point, I’m always open to hearing your concepts and helping shape them into something beautiful. I love funk, pop and blues, and lately I’ve been listening to a lot of indie pop like Parcels. Cory Wong is one of my favorite guitarists—his tone and feel inspire me every day. I’m also a big fan of rock, especially the vintage 80s sound that brings so much character and color.
Every recording I’ve made in my life makes me proud, and I approach each new one with the same excitement. If you reach out, we can turn your ideas into music that feels alive, groovy, warm, and full of personality.
I look forward to your message so we can start creating something amazing together.

Interview with Ivan Castro

  1. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  2. A: My home studio in Buenos Aires is fully equipped for professional guitar recording. I work on a MacBook paired with a Universal Audio Apollo Twin, which gives me access to high-quality preamps and great amp simulations when needed. For microphones, I use a Shure SM57 and a Neumann KM184, perfect for capturing both electric amps and acoustic textures with precision. I record through my main guitars: a Gibson ES-335, a Fender Stratocaster, a Taylor acoustic, a Gretsch hollow-body, and a Córdoba classical guitar. For effects, I rely on my Headrush Gigboard, and when I want natural amp character I use my Fender Hot Rod amps. Everything is monitored on clean studio speakers and set up to deliver consistent, detailed, and great-sounding tracks. My focus is always on tone, clarity, and capturing the personality each project needs.

  3. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  4. A: I’m inspired by Cory Wong, Vulfpeck, Pat Metheny, Parcels, Carlos Santana, Allan Holdsworth, and Takanaka — artists whose tone, groove, and creativity constantly push me forward.

  5. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  6. A: I mainly record professional guitar tracks from my home studio in Buenos Aires, delivering high-quality parts for a wide range of productions and musical styles.
