I was previously a west end performer and a trained session vocalist. Upon leaving the West End, I found myself also producing for myself and other musical artists. My approach is finding an artist's true sound. I find there's a lot of music formulas happening within western music which is why music is starting to sound
Yo! My name is Thaxxter! I am a music producer and music artist based in South London. My skills are creating unique sounding music tailored to the artist I am working with. I specialise in boundary free art, new sounding textures, harmonies. My musical theory is based upon listening to an array of music and shifting those elements into new and exciting concepts.
I love collaborating and exploring new stories within music. My ideology is- without the lyrics, the song should still make sense and vice versa.
I want to create a new wave of music, something new and exciting. The collaboration I do- I want people to know straight away what artist and producer made it, I don't want to sound like anyone else!

Endorse THAXXTERWorked with him on a few projects. Always gives me what I want and suprises me as well. Excellent collaborator and communicator. Super humble guy who knows what he's doing.
I hired Thaxter to work on my upcoming EP, he provided me with high quality background vocals. Very impressed with the range of pitch he provided. My song has a full, choir sound! SO happy!
I contacted Thaxter to produce a youtube jingle for my channel. He communicated with me the whole with regards to my wants and needs and he delivered a high quality product. Very pleased with my song and definitely will be using him in the future.
Blown away by the quality of my track which Thaxter mixed.

Interview with THAXXTER
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I love seeing the end project, how it expands from one idea to a sonic spectrum.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on an EP and music videos.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not as of yet, but i am looking forward to collaborating.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. Just because of how my studio is set up.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I take work personally, therefore i'm not happy to put out work until both the artist and i are fulfilled.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Telling stories in different ways.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: "How do you like you finish projects to sound?" Bright and full of meaning.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I'm a push over because i have a laid back manner.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Reference tracks, whats the mood of your song, what do you want to achieve with this record, what do you expect from me.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be consistent and transparent. Have a clear vision of what you want.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Cell phone, a filter that cleans water, a knife, a book on surviving in the desert, and a mirror ( For getting the attention of planes, not to look at myself.. i suppose i could use the knife actually.. i dunno)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started on the West end as performer- worked on a few small projects and slowly made the transition into primarily music
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Every song is different. I'd say my primary genre is alternative R&B.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd love to work with Bon Iver. I love how he takes himself away on vacation for months at a time and just explores new ideas.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Use as many references/ sources as possible!! Find an artist that has a similar sound to you, always compare- does this artist have a brighter mid section? Is their kick punchier than mine and should i bring mine up? Also, aways listen to your masters and mixes in mono and on different speakers!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on typically Jorja Smith, Snoh, Frank Ocean, Daniel Ceaser type beats but always try and a little sauce. I like to make music that people will move to. I personally wouldn't want to attend a gig where the audience is stagnant.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I feel i have a very trained ear, i listen to all genres of music so I always try and incorporate different elements- the harmonies of gospel, the bass lines of jazz, the chords of R&B soul, the tempo of pop.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Clarity. You should know where you start in a song and where you want to finish. When creating, singing, mixing, mastering- you should think of the bigger picture; whose my audience? Where do i hear this song being played? When would i want people to listen to this song? How do i i want people to feel when they are listening to this song?
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Chords are always my first go to, they create the mood around the song- after that its dependent on the leading factors of the song. When mixing i always eliminate the 'mud' and unwanted frequencies in the lower end of instruments, after that it's all about choosing the most important elements of the song and surgically boosting and cutting to create a wide stereo mix.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: 2 macs, 1 for production 1 for recording, Mod X Yamaha keyboard, Carlsberg drum kit, Bass guitar, electric and an array of logic pro plugins.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am inspired by those who create unique stories with their songs. A song should tell you more than just what the words say, the chords should be the back up evidence, the percussion tells you the setting and pace of the location. Artists such as: James Bake, Jacob Collier, PJ Morton, Tyer the Creator have a science behind their work which is more than just service level commercialism.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: "With a debut of upcoming singles, Thaxter has a broad understanding of both production and post production of music. Thaxter pushes the boundaries of the sonic spectrum creating bright freshening sounds."
